I always bring a knee pad I made from a spare piece of foam rubber to use for the kneeling firing position to keep from wearing holes in my jeans from rough pavement or gravel

In International 3 Position we have rubber pads built into our shooting trousers on both knees. We also use a kneeling roll underneath the ankle we are sitting on. It all helps as you can be in the kneeling position for almost an hour in an International 3x40 match.

If you want to see 30 minutes of me just shooting kneeling, theres a video below.

It's just slightly more interesting than watching paint dry.

If so do you practice all of them or only select ones and why? Some ranges force you to use a bench, some like the bench for comfort or due to physical limitations, and a bench is good for working on loads/accuracy. I personally find myself on the bench working on loads/accuracy sighting in etc., but I tend to stay there too long because it is comfortable(kinda like my couch and tv haha) When I finally get off the bench I am glad I did for the challenge and gained proficiency with my rifle. I can only shoot kneeling for a few shots due to a couple ankle injuries and surgery's. All others are pain free luckily.
