Oh yeah. Saw him once a long while ago on a Tuesday if I recall right. I think he still does it.

Airsoft ranges won't allow real air rifles because they can't handle it.

Any reasonably urban area will treat an air rifle just like a real rifle, especially in CA.

Maybe he doesn't have much of a back yard?

Maybe he doesn't want to scare the neighbors?
I'm NOT saying he shouldn't be at the range. What I AM saying is the dinky rifle he shot was so quiet I never heard him shoot from two lanes down.

If I AM going to pay the $20 range fee, I'll bring a real gun. If I'm going to plink with a a BB rifle, I can set up a row of cans in a dozen places (inside or outside) I don't have to pay for. Livermore is anything but urban like Compton.

        Kapish?

People who are first time shooters have to learn, just like you had to learn. Following range rules to the letter in California is difficult, because every range in California has different rules. I understand their are some obvious rules that are going to be pretty much standard, but as a new shooter you arent going to know that. You should have called a cease fire and let the RSO know what was going on. Or better yet stepped back and lent the new shooter a helping hand. Seems the more neighborly thing to do than crying about it online to strangers and calling them newbies. Just you calling them newbies tells me exactly what your mindset is. People call people newbies to throw shade. id say come down off that high horse you are on and get over yourself.

Problem is that firearms safety is not taught in schools, or at home for that matter.

Seems that guy is there every time I show up...he is very accurate...not sure why that contraption is called a gun?

To each his own...and I never worry he may the guy sweeping the other shooters

Now that Target Masters is closed...we have way less postings about how dangerous that place was to shoot...or be shot.

The real problem is that some of those are not "first time shooters" and they believe they are doing it right, so they have an attitude if you correct them. They are not interested in learning, they are interested in being right. Even when they are clearly wrong. We have our state full of people like that. In fact, we have our country full of people like that... They are about to vote for "Joe and Hoe."

"As a younger member, I was not about to get into a verbal altercation with the two 35-45 year old men next to me. Besides that, I noticed while I was in line that these people were not gun enthusiasts, were into firearms for the machismo, and fit the "tactitard" persona.

They might have mistaken my alarm for confrontation, so I felt my best course of action was to explain what was happening to the staff and leave the range.

Your circumstance may be different, but with all of these new and misinformed gun owners, I think we should have a discussion on the proper course of action. Again, note that I said OC indoor doesn't necessarily have an RSO in the shooting bays, and there was only one person staffing the range to filter people out today."

I addressed my actions and reasons throughout the thread. For the conditions, environment, and reality I was in, I was not going to call a CEASE-FIRE and confront these individuals for the reasons stated above.

In simple terms: 1) it's not my job 2) handling loaded firearms on the back counter is common sense, and does not stem from "difficulty of following range rules to the letter." Part of the blame lies with range who understaffed themselves and does not typically have a range officer present.
