Love Thomas Sowell. I have posted before that if you are a conservative, a libertarian, or just a wee bit right leaning and you don’t know who he is then you are not well read or informed. Unfourtuanately I believe he is in his 80’s now, but he has a significant body of work that you can search online for or see in YouTube clips or find on Townhall.com (which I consider the best website that aggregates most conservative or right leaning commentators and commentary.Comment

90! And a national treasure.
I love seeing white liberal trolls in the Breitbart comments calling the conservatarians there racist and arguing we only revere blacks like Sowell, Walter Williams, Larry Elder, Candace Owens, etc. because they agree with us. Which makes my head spin because it confirms skin colour doesn't matter to 99.9% or our side.I am not your lawyer. I am not giving you or anyone else who reads my posts legal advice. I am making off-the-cuff comments that may or may not be accurate and are personal, not professional, opinion. If you think you need a lawyer please retain a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction. Your local bar association may be able to help if you need a referral.

Two problems. All you idiots that complain about the prices people selling their items for should remember that people's rights to free enterprise are not much different than our rights to have guns to begin with.
When you interfere with that, you are no different from the anti-guns whining about how guns are dangerous.
Some people have had to include "no thread crapping" on their ads to avoid the response of losers who have no restraint but interfere with his right to free enterprise.
I recently sold a Glock for twice what I bought it for.
I didn't force anyone to pay that. If anyone has a problem with that .... go eat dirt. The Market will go in the direction it wants to go, and nobody's whining will ever stop it.
.
First, the obvious hypocrisy. You demand freedom to do what you want, but how DARE anyone simply say something about your actions. Nobody is calling for regulations, they are just talking. And that makes you uncomfortable, as it should. Despite your insults for others, being called on what you are doing stings, and so you hate that it happens.
Two, it's NOT a free market. It's a ridiculously controlled, unfree market.
EDIT: TO the extent that this thread is calling for changes to the marketplace rules, I am fine with the rules as they are. This is not a for sale thread, and people are just talking. It seems the angry people flinging spittle about how what they are doing is acceptable, and anyone else is a commie, are the ones who are emotional.Last edited by Citadelgrad87; 07-27-2020, 11:32 AM.Originally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Originally posted by repubconservPrint it out and frame it for all I careOriginally posted by el chivoI don't need to think at all..XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOriginally posted by pjsigYou are talking to someone who already won this lame conversation, not a brick a wall. List it as what it is, Walther P38K,in your case, the suffix "K" would be enough to atract a SERIUS buyer that would probably pay what ever you wanted for that Gun.
Other people would never know the meaning of that K, K=Kurts=Short.
By the way, Nice Pistol, very desirable.Comment

The marketplace has turned into such crap in 2020 that I try my best to avoid buying guns from here. This is how bad it has gotten. And its not even the abundance of thread crapping or some idiot making a troll WTS thread.
There is just too much useless chatter going on in the Marketplace as of late. I don't want to read all of that crap, this goes especially for thread crapping as well as:
-great gun GLWS
-I WILL TAKE IT!!!!
-hey call/text me!
-I wish you were closer.
-pictures?!
All of this crap can be done via PM. All I want to see in the Marketplace is:
-detailed opening post
-bumps
-SPF/SOLDComment

Well said! This needs to be copied and pasted into every Commie Karen thread complaining about marketplace prices.I want to thank the OP for reminding me that just because someone participates on a shooting forum it doesn't mean they're not a commie.
I recommend all the complaining price-Karens read Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics. It is written in easy to understand language with no graphs or difficult math.
You will learn how prices can reflect scarcity. And help guide the invisible hand of the free market to operate infinitely more efficiently than a command and control economy.
Moreover, someone above mentioned pricing above what 99% of buyers would pay. But if a seller has but one copy of that gun to sell of what interest are the 99% of buyers who will not buy that gun at that price? His only concern is the 1% that will.
Also, as pointed out above, if the price is so high no one will buy the market will inform him with failure. If he cannot connect the dots he may post a thread in the appropriate sub-forum asking why no one has bought his gun. At that time you can swoop in as a price crusader and gleefully suggest he lower the price until he finds a buyer. Or find a new market.
It is lamentable that no one is going to take me up on my suggestion regarding Dr Sowell. The interplay of supply, demand, and pricing, is complex. So complex that efficient balance of the system has eluded those who aspire to be master planners.
But suffice to say -- I am pecking this out on my phone after all -- new buyers complaining about high prices might not be well served were prices kept artificially low. A lower price might not mean they get their first gun at a low price. It may mean they get no gun at all.
For example, when supplies are low and demand is high -- and people our looking at our civil war going hot and panic buying -- people with 100 guns may be interested in buying another when prices are low. But may be less interested if the price were really high. The person in the inner city with no gun at all may be so motivated to protect their family that they are grateful for the opportunity to buy a Glock at two, or even three, times its MSRP. But if the price were not high they might never have the opportunity if someone less desperate buys it first.
Dr Sowell explains that lefty laws to forbid high interest rate "paycheck loans" does not mean that poor people will have access to low priced credit. It means they will have no access to credit at all. And trusts that a single mom with three kids about to be evicted for not paying rent knows better whether she needs an emergency loan than some do-gooder who can't bear the thought of someone paying a high interest rate.
I'm reminded of people who lobby to get television shows cancelled. Apparently they cannot muster the will to change the channel. Or cannot countenance someone having different tastes and priorities.
You complainers -- and there's a new thread every other week -- need to learn to change the channel. And mind your own business. Stop interfering with another person's affairs and efforts to make money. No wonder the Marxists are getting so much support. I don't hate you. I blame the schools and teachers. Mostly.
But would you thread crappers appreciate someone showing up to your place of business explaining to your boss and coworkers how you're paid too much and how you know where they can find someone who will do the same job for less? Please don't lie. You would be starting a new thread complaining about it.
Price too high for you? Don't buy it.
Price too high for everyone? The seller will figure it out without your help.

You attorneys are all the same - you argue the other point by reflex, knowing full well you can develop a "seemingly" plausible argument to support just about any belief. It's always easy to accuse anyone of hypocrisy, when you cloud the original and more important point with a bunch of presumptions and psychological nonsense.
The message is simple - the marketplace is the ultimate arbiter of prices - no help needed, especially from Trolls. Prices will go in the direction and extent to which they want to go. An amazing thing is happening in the marketplace right now. WATCH and LEARN.

ar15.com and the FALFiles.com are far "better" than the Marketplace here.
Reason? Simple...rules are enforced in both, particularly in the area of thread crapping.
Here, there's a group of Kevins and Karens attempting to save the rest of the forum from paying too much.
I'm not sure why that is, but it ruins the Marketplace here for all.
I agree Calguns Marketplace could use a little better technology that would help keep the marketplace more orderly, seen it on ARF and other forums, but I guess we are lucky the admins do a good job manually of keeping any disorder minimized.

Quite the bloviation when you decided to lead with "You attorneys are all the same", a statement that if made against many other groups would get you banned. Pretty weak.

You countered nothing I wrote. Not a syllable. You are a hypocrite, because you demand to be able to charge whatever you want, but you want no one else to be able to comment, even on a thread that is about this issue.
I know how the market works. Maybe you could point me to the economic treatise that says that capitalism is so fragile, discussion of prices cannot be permitted.
