All you idiots that complain about the prices people selling their items for should remember that people's rights to free enterprise are not much different than our rights to have guns to begin with.
When you interfere with that, you are no different from the anti-guns whining about how guns are dangerous.
Some people have had to include "no thread crapping" on their ads to avoid the response of losers who have no restraint but interfere with his right to free enterprise.
I recently sold a Glock for twice what I bought it for.
I didn't force anyone to pay that. If anyone has a problem with that .... go eat dirt. The Market will go in the direction it wants to go, and nobody's whining will ever stop it.

Why do you hate freedom and the free market so much that you'd want to institute draconian policies that inhibit free citizens from conducting commerce?I seen few listings with users who joined within the past month selling brand new guns at a profit. One listing had a seller wanting to meet the buyer on his DROS pick up date that he didn't sign for yet LOL. Maybe Calguns could implement a probationary period before being able to sell an item?Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

The Calguns.net Marketplace is free enterprise...that's free enterprise WITH RULES.Originally posted by TopshotIDFSo you mention free enterprise. Well in free enterprise buyers can crap all over a vendor who had outrageous prices, bad service etc.
My point was If you have to write in your post no thread crapping it means you know what you posted is so outrageous and is going to get back lash.
So if you have to write no thread crapping your post maybe take a step back reevaluate your post and fix it so you wont get a thread crapping.
My point is you shouldn't have to post a "no thread crapping" request in your thread as, has already been posted a bunch of times, it's been in the RULES forever...and Karen, if that ruffles your sensitive feathers, you might want to take it up with Kestryll...report back when you get a response.

Descriptions like "rare", "hard to find", vintage, and condition may or may not be red flags...if you're looking at a gun to buy, you should at least have a basic idea if what you're looking for is vintage, etc.
If you're not sure, you should get more info on the gun...google and wiki are good starts. Just like buying a car, if you haven't done your homework, you will be reamed, and that's not a perhaps reamed.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Contrary to what you are claiming, buyers are NOT free to "crap all over a vendor for outrageous prices..." Not in Calguns.Originally posted by TopshotIDFSo you mention free enterprise. Well in free enterprise buyers can crap all over a vendor who had outrageous prices, bad service etc.

The no thread crapping rule is actually one that most marketplace participants actually LIKE.
It helps create an orderly marketplace, free of Trolls!!
This is one reason why the Calguns Marketplace is one of the best forums in the world for private individuals to lawfully exchange guns with each other.
All the trolls can go take a vacation and get banned.
If a seller is asking too much for his gun or parts, leave him alone. The market will teach him, in a language he can clearly understand: "your price is too high." The market does not need anyone's help for that. You can kick back and enjoy watching him bump his thread for the next 6 months, instead of thread crapping, which only creates clutter, distraction and disorder in the marketplace.

ar15.com and the FALFiles.com are far "better" than the Marketplace here.Contrary to what you are claiming, buyers are NOT free to "crap all over a vendor for outrageous prices..." Not in Calguns.

Reason? Simple...rules are enforced in both, particularly in the area of thread crapping.
Here, there's a group of Kevins and Karens attempting to save the rest of the forum from paying too much.
I'm not sure why that is, but it ruins the Marketplace here for all.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

I want to thank the OP for reminding me that just because someone participates on a shooting forum it doesn't mean they're not a commie.
I recommend all the complaining price-Karens read Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics. It is written in easy to understand language with no graphs or difficult math.
You will learn how prices can reflect scarcity. And help guide the invisible hand of the free market to operate infinitely more efficiently than a command and control economy.
Moreover, someone above mentioned pricing above what 99% of buyers would pay. But if a seller has but one copy of that gun to sell of what interest are the 99% of buyers who will not buy that gun at that price? His only concern is the 1% that will.
Also, as pointed out above, if the price is so high no one will buy the market will inform him with failure. If he cannot connect the dots he may post a thread in the appropriate sub-forum asking why no one has bought his gun. At that time you can swoop in as a price crusader and gleefully suggest he lower the price until he finds a buyer. Or find a new market.
It is lamentable that no one is going to take me up on my suggestion regarding Dr Sowell. The interplay of supply, demand, and pricing, is complex. So complex that efficient balance of the system has eluded those who aspire to be master planners.
But suffice to say -- I am pecking this out on my phone after all -- new buyers complaining about high prices might not be well served were prices kept artificially low. A lower price might not mean they get their first gun at a low price. It may mean they get no gun at all.
For example, when supplies are low and demand is high -- and people our looking at our civil war going hot and panic buying -- people with 100 guns may be interested in buying another when prices are low. But may be less interested if the price were really high. The person in the inner city with no gun at all may be so motivated to protect their family that they are grateful for the opportunity to buy a Glock at two, or even three, times its MSRP. But if the price were not high they might never have the opportunity if someone less desperate buys it first.
Dr Sowell explains that lefty laws to forbid high interest rate "paycheck loans" does not mean that poor people will have access to low priced credit. It means they will have no access to credit at all. And trusts that a single mom with three kids about to be evicted for not paying rent knows better whether she needs an emergency loan than some do-gooder who can't bear the thought of someone paying a high interest rate.
I'm reminded of people who lobby to get television shows cancelled. Apparently they cannot muster the will to change the channel. Or cannot countenance someone having different tastes and priorities.
You complainers -- and there's a new thread every other week -- need to learn to change the channel. And mind your own business. Stop interfering with another person's affairs and efforts to make money. No wonder the Marxists are getting so much support. I don't hate you. I blame the schools and teachers. Mostly.
But would you thread crappers appreciate someone showing up to your place of business explaining to your boss and coworkers how you're paid too much and how you know where they can find someone who will do the same job for less? Please don't lie. You would be starting a new thread complaining about it.
Price too high for you? Don't buy it.
Price too high for everyone? The seller will figure it out without your help.I am not your lawyer. I am not giving you or anyone else who reads my posts legal advice. I am making off-the-cuff comments that may or may not be accurate and are personal, not professional, opinion. If you think you need a lawyer please retain a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction.
