Not a good idea and its not going to work. Look.....I could generate, as well as you and anyone else, 50 posts in less than an hour. Plus, everyone has to start some place and all of us at one time had zero or one post. This is true for all CG members. The answer is to do your research and if the seller or buyer seem to be flakes then don't buy or sell and move on. I've been on CG for a long time. It doesn't take much of an effort to figure out who the flakes are. But on the other hand, I've had great transactions with newer members.

Yes, getting 50 posts is not necessarily difficult for some, but imposing a month/30 day restriction can help with that as well.

The issue isn't just about flakes, but it helps restrict people from making a free account and start up a few for sale threads without engaging in the community. If that's all these users/accounts wanted to do, then leave it off the forums and post up on other classifieds like armslist or whatever.

The restrictions/barriers also helps the people that are silent/lurking on board to engage in conversations. If they don't wish to participate, that's fine, but the marketplace shouldn't be open to all, especially with the increased scams that's happening lately.

In the end, both buyers and sellers benefit because you decrease the time/effort that is wasted with those posts.
