For carry get the Glock 43X with the Shield Arms 15 round magazines. Far and away the best off duty carry gun around.

Tje same number of rounds as the G19 in a smaller frame. But it shoots just as accurately.

Tough tough decisions lol. I placed a order for a gen 5 Glock 19 or model 45 MOS. Whichever comes first lol. But I’m going to get another gun as well. But I shoot left handed so I want the ambidextrous slide release and stuff. I don’t believe the G43 or 43x or 48 has that. So those might be a deal breaker. So maybe the G26 is a better choice. But I have the G29 10mm already, which I believe is the same size as the 26. So im not sure on all that

Your G29 will be very similar in size to the G19, they can share some softer material holsters even. The G29 is a little thicker, particularly in the slide, but height and length are very close. The G26 is quite a bit smaller than either, and my vote.

I don’t know, so I’m asking but can you not use your service weapon for range time?

                Are you a “gun person”?

If your not a “gun person” and just looking for a range/plinking/hd gun, I’d say get the same gun you are issued. That way if you have to use it, you will tend to be more effective with it due to familiarity.

Personally, I like to mix it up but I don’t carry a gun for a living and if all goes well I’ll never have to point a gun at another person ever so I have lots of different pistols, some are glocks and most are not.

                  I've got a 17, 19, 26 & 43. Glock 19 is by far my favorite.

Five five six what other ambidextrous guns would be your choice. I’m open to different guns not just Glocks.

OP, don't over think it in terms of which is "best". Pick the one that you WANT most, even it it may not be the "best" choice. If you like the pistol you go with, you can and will make it work.

FNH has a line of polymer pistols, M&P series has ambidextrous models... A Google search will help the most OP, especially since you aren't bound by the roster the rest of us are.

Yea trust me I’ve been googling and YouTubing lol. I like the looks of the FN509. But can’t hold any of these. So once I make a decision you order it and that’s it lol.

Well the reality is that none of us have your hand, your eyes, and your specific requirements. It's kind of a crap shoot without holding things in your hand. If you must make the purchase sight unseen, stick with a major manufacturer, and I'm sure you will be fine.

And most importantly, you can always order another and sell this one if it doesn't work, you will probably break even or make money if you get an off roster to start with.
