    Glock Rust

Just bought a new Glock about a month ago and I’ve had it in a generic Big Five safe. I have a moisture absorber in the safe as well. Also have an 870 that I’ve had in there for a couple of months and is totally rust free. But for some reason this Glock has a couple little specks of rust and I’ve tried hopps 9 and a rag and it won’t come off. I ordered some spitz hopefully does the trick or is there another way?

or use the brass bore brush. What are you wiping the surface with? Use gun oil, not silicon cloth. My process is small rag sized section of a car wash shammy that has been saturated in Break Free CLP.

Especially if you live in a high humidity area, add a goldenrod heater bar to your safe if possible.

Also, verify your moisture absorber is sufficient for the size of your safe, then add one more.

I’m thinking about using an old toothbrush and the hopps 9 again.

                  Don’t use moisture absorbing stuff.

Goldenrod is awesome. I've had one for years and it just keeps working and doing its job.

His opinion. The recharchable units work fine.

                          - rub it gently with a pre-1982 penny and a drop of oil

Nothing wrong with using dessicant. Given it a light coat of oil/CLP and wipe down after handling it and rust shouldn't be an issue in California unless your safe is in a damp basement. Glock slide finishes are actually pretty tough (even if new ones are no longer tenifer finished).

Seems like everyone has their secret recipe to remove rust. I'm sure one of them will work.
