Funny I go to both places to look, buy and converse...
Very seldom are you going to be in either and just have one person standing around doing nothing...
Been pretty busy most of the time, I am at either...

As far as Gun Room goes I will be there today, shooting and then looking around...It is a good location IMHO...Been going there for as long as it has been open (range) more than that when at other location to buy and BS...

Seems like it is very busy, so I will be there fairly early...Will be shooting my Glocks and DE...

Most gun locations allow you to look and check stuff out, if you are just lookey loos (as most are) it is nice not to be hassled IMHO...

But if looking to just go in and BS, many times they are to busy I have noticed...

Some need to get a life, go shoot at another spot, but since it is only 5 mins from me I go there instead of 20-30 miles away...

I've had kinda the same thing. Gun room has been nothing but helpful to me, and enjoyable the last few times I was there. And wild bills was the opposite. I don't think they took me seriously bc I am on the younger side. I waited like 30 min for help. I'm actually going back to the gun room saturday. I enjoy it there although some of their stuff is a bit overpriced.

I was planning on doing a PPT at the EGGR this weekend. Can someone recommend another location? I'm not from the area, but will be in Elk Grove for a Ducks Unlimited dinner.

I just did a ppt at gun room. It went just fine. But there is wild bills literally across the street. NW side of the intersection on grant line.

Seems like whenever someone _itches about the Gun Room it starts with the "they don't sell black guns" moan. Merchants are allowed to select the market segment they wish to cater to, if they are not your type of dealer, go somewhere else. It is refreshing that you don't walk in and see 20 or 30 AR's and little else of value, jmo. I can't say they are the greatest, but they are as good as any other gun store I have bought from in Sacramento. They have a great selection of actual hunting rifles and shotguns. I have observed their sales staff being very patient with newbie handgun purchasers. Plus, they have a decent indoor range. My gripe is that they allow shotguns on a indoor range that is loud already...just a gripe though!

Honesty is the best policy, and being on the hook is not where I am at

There are many better locations to purchase firearms, they are pretty high, some times I have gotten a good deal on items...50AE loading dies were half price... Bought a MI Carbine in 5.7mm, .224 that was nice... Reasonable, no one else wanted it I guess??? Ammo is expensive...

Just got back from there shooting my 9mm, at one time I was the only one shooting at other times there were many...

Bought some 4227 powder also, not many have it around... Full service location, my kind of place...

I haven't had a bad experience at the Gun Room really, I use there range every once and a while and always well lit and clean for the most part, haven't had much interaction at the gun counter but the few times that I have they went very well, guess I'm lucky when I go I don't get to deal with all the stuff everybody says,

I did a PPT there yesterday and am in the wait.

Paid $36 and got the 11 day hold. Guess not much has changed in the past 18 mos.

It was out of area for me and I know none of the shops out there. Since the seller shops there and has used them in the past for PPT, I went with the known entity (since I've read the horror stories about ppt at some places).

To be fair to them, they were polite and efficient. No hassle about the DROS, no crotchety "you're bothering me" tone, even though we interrupted dinner. Fellow processing gave clear direction, happily answered questions and was generally personable. I've dealt with much less friendly folks.

The prices on the things I looked at seemed appropriate for California retail (not the internet, not a "friend discount"). I've seen much, much higher on tags for similar items. They had an RIA Tactical for $489, which is the same as Cordova Shooting Center, which is not too far away (based on my loose awareness of Sacramento area geography)

I'm not incensed enough to raise hell over a dollar and a day. I'll vote with my future purchases, and spend a few min here to make sure others are aware and can draw their own judgment from my experience.

                            is that right?
