Interesting, the last time I was by there, they were still doing massive construction at that intersection, and I couldn't even see what that building was. Does Wild Bill's have a range in it?

No he doesn't, but his gun prices are better and the atmosphere is nicer.

I'll have to stop in and check it out. Might/might not buy anything, but it'd be nice to have a cool gun shop nearby .

Elk Grove gun room is the worst range I have ever been to. The only plus is that they allow shotguns. Even bringing my Mossberg 590 in was a bad experience because they shined a flashlight at my lane telling me to slow down my fire, even though I had one second inbetween each shot. They told me to do one LONG second, which is logically retarded becuase a second is a constant measure of time at normal conditions. Service was poor, and they turned down some guy with GSG 5. I wish they were better because I live only a couple miles away from them.

lol, it didnt alwayd used to be this way.
Yea, the prices are high. . . but its his business, his range, his rules.
The funny thing is, i know it never took me longer than 12-15 minutes to run a DROS. Hour and a half. . . . really? seriously? and you didnt ask for a manager?

              uh huh. . . .

Anyone been there recently? I have an M&P 15-22 with a fake can. I have a feeling it looks too evil for them. I remember them ****ting a small brick when I first brought in a freakin 870 with a surefire light.

I was able to get in with my GSG the only time I was there so you should be fine. I was surprised to see a member above was denied with his. -Ben

Let me know if they still have the used S&W 1911 for sale there.

                    - Former range gun. Looks like about 5,000 rounds through it.
                    - The lug inside the slide that holds the bushing in place has completely sheared off
                    - Been in their For Sale case for 2+ years
                    - Yours for only $650
My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.

High prices, unfriendly staff and less than stellar conditions on the range side... What do you want in a gun store anyway???

From what I've read here, The Gun Room changed their policies apparently. They initially didn't allow it, now they appear to be allowing GSG's. I have not personally tried this, though.

+1 for Wild Bill's, Brandon and his crew are awesome. I dont even go to the GunRoom anymore, their retail prices are as bad/high as the sales staff's attitude!!!!

I don't understand the $36 transfer as the law is very clear on what they are allowed to charge.......I don't get it

I have been to the gun room many times for shooting. Honestly I have never had a bad experience there. Sometimes they are busy during "peak hours" which is usually on the weekends. The whole place is clean and well-lit, and as such does not scare new shooters who I sometimes train. I have never bought a gun there, so I can't comment on their fees and policies. But they do have a very good selection of items in stock and have always been courteous and helpful when asking to look at a particular gun. This is in stark contrast to how I have been treated at some other establishments with crusty old curmudgeons who act like it is a huge imposition on their time and are disgusted that you are even there, and criticize your taste in guns and treat you like you know nothing compared to them. Compared to those establishments, the EGGR is a breath of fresh air.

Been there for the range. The gun store is uninteresting.

Maybe I look like a jerk or have funky BO but the last two times I have been to Wild Bill's to either buy something or to do a transfer I just got the look and was told by the owner who was just standing there that somebody else would help me. He wasn't even doing anything. So I guess I've had the exact opposite experience that you've had X 2.
