I researched this topic before keeping loaded mags is fine the springs will last a very long time loaded or unloaded.

PMags use the dust cover to not stress the plastic feed lips and for free staters or soon to be the MagPul D60 drum can be stored loaded with no damage according to the instruction manual from MagPul.

All loaded except for a couple of safe queens mags.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

I have a few loaded with hollow points in my bedside pistol box, a few loaded with regular FMJ in my range bag, a couple others separate with snap caps I use for dry fire practice and 3 that are still NIB.

Lol. All of you telling me to load my mags. I think I may have about 300. I have plenty of them loaded.

I have heard (can't remember the exact source) that if keeping them loaded for a long time, don't fill them completely so that the spring is fully compressed. Rather load a seven round mag with 5, or a 10 round with 8 or a thirty round mag with 25, etc. I am wondering about mag design and if that also can play a factor...single stack, double, straight vs curved.

I have over 400 AR mags. Loaded. 30 rounders, too.

I'd be worried about that Coto de Caza ghetto, some bad hombres in there.

                              No.
Well, if you have 300 or so, then there's no reason to load them all up. But, for those with a limited number of mags, load them up until you feel you have enough.

The point is....loading a magazine to capacity does nothing to the spring.
