    Mag storage: full or empty?

I have heard both answers. What say you store empty or full? My feelings is that full is fine. Except for perhaps blocked mags.

Full is fine for go to mags. I would rotate mags every few months. For normal storage should be empty. I suggest having extra mag springs in your parts inventory...https://www.gunsprings.com/

The spring doesn't go bad from being compressed, it goes bad from being compressed and decompressed i.e. being used. There was a YouTube video about it by ShadeTree Armorer check it out.

If it has metal feed lips, keep the mag full. Else leave it empty.

The only reason they shouldn’t be full is if you’re out of ammo

Each of my HD (home defense) pistols are loaded to full standard capacity in the magazine + one in the chamber. And have two (2) EXTRA magazines loaded FULL.

As OCEquestrian mentioned, be sure of have spare springs on hand and regularly check them...

Always filled... P-mags need the dust cover though, as they are plastic (feed lip) mags

There is no reason to leave you mags empty. Compressing the spring doesn’t hurt it.

I leave all my magazines empty, and I also keep all my vehicles gas tanks completely empty and my refrigerator is empty too...
