    You know what Adam.

Here's the deal, as much as I would love for you to send me that rifle at this point you have already told me it is shipping. That was over two weeks ago and here the rifle sits still in your home.

I really do want to give you the benefit of the doubt and not cause you any more burdens. However I am not comfortable that (A.) I can even trust what your saying at this point and (B.) That if by some miracle you do ship that rifle, and for some reason there is an issue with it I am seriously concerned that I will not be able to get any type of resolution if it is a faulty rifle. I really would like to trust you but at this point sir you just have not given me anything to give you that trust. You freely admit that you have no money to ship so exactly how long do you really expect me to wait? I want to believe and trust you Adam and I do not want to cause you more burden with another charge back. But you have to do a few things for this transaction to get completed. If you cannot agree to this things then for get it and I will go ahead with my charge back.

    1. You must Ship my rifle out by tomorrow 5/8/2009
    2. You must provide me with a tracking number no later than 5/8/2009 showing it shipped and on it's way to JK Supply
    3. I want your word and promise here in this public forum that if for any reason I have trouble with this rifle you will either fix it or refund me my money.

    Can you do this?

Right now I am leaving the charge back going. It will take at least 7-10 days for them to send me the paper work to complete. If you do as I have stated about I will stop the charge back proceedings.

Had you simply been upfront with me two weeks ago that you did not have the money for shipping my rifle I would gladly have sent that to you.

OK Adam I am giving you the chance to make it right. I have also sent you a pm and email wiht this exact text. I think that's fair and the ball is in your court.

OK folks Adam is at this point stepping up and doing what needs to be done. He has supplied me with a tracking number. I think he can turn things around and regain his rep if he continues to take care of business. He and I had a nice little exchange via PM's and I hope he takes what I said to heart. I really think if he does what I think he knows needs to be done he can turn things around and make his business thrive even with the bad things that have transpired here.

I hope freakshow can get everything back into the black instead of the red. I know how hard it can be when working or owning a small business. Especially when the business is just starting off or trying to expand. I remember tough times at the job I had at a company that was trying to expand.

I talked to Adam today and we talked about some ways to get things in a better position. My rifle shipped today, I have the tracking number and it is in transit.

I know some of you are frustrated. If you can, give him a chance to try to make ammends. If everyone makes a run on refunds or cancellations, it could be difficult for him. He has learned some lessons and probably has some more to learn over time as we all do.

I don't believe he is running off and selling people's rifles or trying to screw them out of anything. You don't have to take my word for it. I just thought I would share.

                  Adam,

the ball is in your court. Remember what we talked about today and make sure the communication lines stay wide open. You can never over communicate.

                      Freakshow:
"Your gun is right here 3 feet away from me. I had zero money to ship it out. All I had was either taken out of my account from people running a charge back on my account."

In the linked thread, Freakshow said that he had zero money to ship the rifle out and yet the OP prepaid for shipping. This means that Freakshow took the money that he received for shipping and used it for something else. Sure, someone may have been a jackass and done a charge back on Freakshow's account but that money is not the same money that Freakshow received from the OP for shipping. I can completely relate to a small business owner getting beaten around by the marketplace, but robbing Peter to pay Paul doesn't seem like a good strategy. Again, even if this happens, communication is absolutely key.
Sounds like our banking system. Have him ask for a bailout.

On a serious note. Adam, if you stay ontop of this and fix the problems that will say what kind of person you are. I understand completley how fast this can happen in a buisness and it is much easier to put your head in the sand and hope for more orders to make up for the losses. Keep a large reserve and DO NOT pay yourself with out it in place or try to grow faster than managable.

Calgunners I have seen in this thread are giving you a great chance to make this right as is Kes.

Communication, communication, communication. I should listen to my own advise lol.

Work hard and get your rep back and thrive.

I agree 100% with this. Adam and I had a few good Pm's together and I asked him to keep his head up and like you say over communicate if need be, it will go a long way to get his rep back.
I truly believe that if he does the thing that he knows need to be done he can and will gain it back. I decided to give him that second chance and did not want to make things worse for him either which is why I have suspended the charge back since he has provided me with the tracking number and my rifle is also in transit.

Keep it going Adam you will get it back on track.

seen it all the time on other hobby boards. A guy gets overstretched, makes a big series of transactions or a mass transaction and runs into supply and demand trouble. And instead of maintaining timely comm, offering immediate cancellations and refunds or otherwise working to resolve the matter in a timely fashion, they let things drag out, go incommunicado, and worst of all, squander OTHER PEOPLES' MONEY on their own monetary needs. Then they get in a cycle of robbing Peter to pay Paul, with the next promised purchases funding the last, until it all blows up. Freakshow appears to be caught up in this ponzi rut.

(if I'm recalling correctly that this is the guy with the huge promised batch of LPKs? ...who repeatedly offered refunds as an apparent bluff to forestall a reckoning. Now those folks windows for charges reversal complaints is closed)

Advice to anyone else getting involved with such large-scale doings - INVESTIGATE THE KEY PERSON'S BACKGROUND for delivery. And pay with a Postal Money Order. The Postal Service considers failure to delivery goods paid for in such a manner to be mail fraud. And they don't screw around about prosecuting such shenanigans. They'll do far more than your local vice detective will about a guy in another county.

This is why I'll never start a small retail business. Most people do it because they love what they are selling and think that their customers will be great, wonderful people.

Buyers are liars. Plain and simple. A customer will not accept any sort of explanation to any problem. End of story.

People talk trash about vendors all day long. I'd love to see some of those people step up to the plate and successfully run a business without unhappy customers. There is a reason why 90% of all small businesses fail in less than a year, and it is because customers will whore themselves to the bone and spend 10 hours shopping around to save $5 bucks. It forces small businesses to sell at excrutiatingly small margins, and pretty much negates any ability to profit from their ventures.

Well done folks - you've pressured yet another small business into near-bankruptcy. So much for human gestures. And for anyone who feels snippy enough to respond with "OMG HE HAS MY UPPER FOR LIKE 20 YEARS OMG!!!" I'd like for you to give me proof of the perfection you manage on a daily basis.

Last summer my ex-wife and I agreed that I would build and sell performance PCs on Ebay. I purchased parts and built a couple of systems. Then a $9 item I sold to a brand new Ebay user screwed me: my email account was listed incorrectly on Ebay, and the buyer sent the payment to a non-existant paypal account. I offered her all sorts of ways to fix the problem, and the see you next tuesday gave me negative feedback. My feedback rating went from 100% to 83%. For anyone that has tried to sell anything on Ebay, you know how screwed you are with an 83% feedback. Everything I'd purchased, all the PCs I'd built, I had to sell them at a loss because no one will buy anything from a seller with less than 98% feedback unless it is dirt *** cheap. That lead to massive money issues over the summer, which eventually lead to the death of my marriage.

But who cares, right? All that matters is your 18th lower because your 22 rifle gun safe has an empty slot and THAT IS SO G-DAMNED IMPORTANT. SCREW THE MAN, HIS MARRIAGE, HIS FINANCES, HIS LIFE. HE RUNS A SMALL BUSINESS - HE RICHER THAN HELL, RIGHT! GET YOUR TORCHES AND PITCHFORKS AND BURN THE BASTARDS HOUSE TO THE GROUND.

I hate the human race sometimes.

Phone line is back up and running. I talked with the phone company and basically we missed a month but they never billed us for it until a few weeks ago when they ran an internal audit and put the account $400 in the hole. I paid $225 Thursday and we still owed $175 according to them. I spoke with them locally and they gave us credit for that amount since they forgot to bill us in the first place. Their mistake, they made it right. Phone went live again about 9pm last night.
