This is the latest email I got from the buyer, and thanks for all the replies, you guys on here are great.


"Well after talking to some people and reading about it, I have to agree with your gunsmith. I don't think mine knew much about vintage 1911's. There were no rounded corners or undue wear on lugs in the slide. It seems he just measured the total fore/aft slop of the barrel, which he said was .062. I'm a retired mechanical designer and my caliper showed half of that, .032.



So anyway, I may sell it in the future, but I'm going to keep it for now.

This guy is a scammer 100%. Those aren't the words of someone who's truly apologizing; that's a guy trying to weasel his way out of trouble after he was caught and outed on this forum.

OP, please do everyone on the site a favor and leave negative iTrader feedback for this guy. He was very obviously trying to either scam you out of some cash. I took a look at your photos of this pistol and they are great photos, above and beyond what most sellers would provide. There is no possible way that this buyer had any doubt about the condition of the firearm when he bought it. PLEASE leave him negative feedback so he doesn't prey upon other buyers in the future.
