I just did my first ammo purchase at walmart. Went incredible painless. Handed my non real ID driver license along with my passport (card, not the book).
    The employee scanned both.
    Printed a bunch of papers.
    I Signed the "preview" sheet.
I verified ALL info correct on DROS paper.
I Signed the approval sheet. (Took less than 10 second to get approved)
    I Choose ammo.
I Signed one sheet of paper per brand or ammo, regardless of the caliber. I bought two calibers, 3 different brands total, I had to sign 3 different papers.
Payed for the ammo and the $1 background check.
I Signed the final sales receipt.
I put the ammo in the cart (no bags, I want everyone to see I bought ammo)
Walked out with 2k plus round of ammo.
    Bye, see you soon.

Note: I was told by manager they will only keep selling shotgun shells, nothing more!!

I went in this morning to pick some ammo up before that stopped selling most on Friday. Only a manager could do the background. Finally got one and handed her my CDL. Handed it back and said I needed either a real CDL ID or a CDL with a passport or a couple other things. I went back later with the passport and got what I needed. Had to sign a document for each caliber purchased. Like this is going to help when the bad guys just rob a store and get what they need or buy it out of the trunk of a car in an alley. Or maybe go gamble in Reno and pick it up.

Yes, i was there in irvine. It costs $58 for 200. So it is .29c.

In other news, the irvine walmart on von karman doesn't require you to have real ID. A legacy ID without FLA is all you need. And no secondary id or proof of residency needed. The guy seems pro2a, only took my DL(not real ID), printed out within 10 seconds after scanning DL and typing in my purchase.

He said since I got approved with my non real ID DL, why the f*** would he need a 2nd ID or residency ID and said he don't play that game.

Correction $.29 cents. Typo when posting from Cellphone.

Because each Walmart has free reign in following CA law... Of course no Walmart will sell 5.56 soon.

Yea, he said he will keep selling until stock runs out. But also mentioned if Walmart has a contract with certain ammo companies to sell specific ammo, those ammo will keep coming in until contract runs out of time.

Just picked up some ammo at the local Walmart. Was the same harassing ordeal (iow "normal" with no problems, kalifornia style) as it was at big 5. At add insult to injury, kali charges sales tax on the $1 "back ground check"

I was talking to the worker lady at Walmart and was told that soon they will no longer be able to sell, discounted shooting target, and home defense ammo but only keep hunting ammo. This is what I was informed by the worker
