Hey guys, I've been using these FLs for 5+ years. They normally get lost before they go bad.
I'm going to order another dozen and thought that I'd ask if there's a better one for less than $2.66 that you guys know of.
So these are costing me about $2.66 each and like I said, they disappear before they fail. A single AA battery is a must

I bought 5-6 of these a while back. Can't beat them for price. Good stash/ emergency kit/ back up lights. Not very bright but good enough for there intended purpose. I have even gotten away with using a 14500 battery in one. Much brighter. Hasn't blown up yet

The Anker LC40 2 pack on Amazon is more expensive but you can use either AAA batteries with the provided adapter or CR123A batteries. I recommend using CR123A as they are more reliable, I had one of the battery adapter went bad but Anker sent me a whole new flashlight replacement, which is amazing service.

We fortunately don't loose flashlights that often. We use two types of flashlights for EDC. Nether are as bright or feature packed as yours, but they work for us.

One is the Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA https://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-8...14P53F1DM&th=1
I like them because they can use a cr123 or a AA battery. We use lithium AAs for the extra life.

Those cheap lights suck. With today's LED technology I prefer to have something more effective. It may cost more but you get what you pay for.

If I don't have my Cree LED flashlight I use one of those tiny cell coin keychain flashlights. I installed a 18,000 mcd white led in it and it lights up the night.

This is just my opinion ( as someone who has had to work in the dark for extended periods of time) that headlight type flashlights are just so much Superior if you're actually have to do something that involves one or both hands, which is usually the case if you're in the dark doing stuff.

If it bothers you wearing it around your head (too tight or maybe the cloth fabric /elastic band has become too loose) you can slide it down around your neck and it's almost as good, although of course it doesn't follow out your eyes viewing area like it would if it was on your head.

If it's the type that's adjustable with clicking up and down at an angle which most are these days you wear it upside down around your neck and you can get pretty much right on the target of where you're working / walking.


That all said, those flashlights that the OP posted look like a good deal for emergency "stash around flashlights", which you do have that purpose.

I have two LC40's. One is the first generation that can run alkaline or 18650 rechargeable batteries. The latest generation comes with rechargeable. For $20 they are great flashlights. The only problem I have with the lights in the OP is that some of them have a parasitic drain that will kill your batteries and/or cause alkalines to leak.

I keep one in all the cars, trucks and motorcycle. One or two in the safe, ammo cabinet, work bench, ammo bench and bedrooms. My teenage kids and wife go to YMCA camp a couple times each year as counselors and camp nurse. They can go through a dozen of these lights at Y camp each week, lost, stolen or to needy campers.
