For the idea of going to Walmart or costco, Costco in my eyes is they way to go even though it doesnt have any ammo, wally world doesnt have any ammo anymore either and is a lot small then costco.

I live in an apartment, so staying home would just make me dinner for some dead head. I would just post up on the roof ans snipe with .22 rounds to the head until I run out of ammo. Thn work my way from .223 to x39. After that depending on the situation, if I could get to a solid 4x4 vehicle, I would drive around hitting as many as I could while my wife shoots slugs out the shotgun working her way through to the .40 cal, then 9mm.

i agree with the previous post that sound will attract zombies so guns are a secondary option. i would go with a cross bow or bow and arrow first. also never forget "blades never need reloading" and a machete can be had for 6.88 at wally world. as for a strong hold im supprised no one has mentioned bass pro shop. they got everything you could need. lots of guns ammo camping supplies and freeze dried food and mre type meals and water purification devices. the one in riverside even has a fish tank with some big fish that would make good eatin and guess what they even sell fishing supplies as well not to mention you could drink the water the fish are in. there is limited entrances and exits and 2 levels for a second layer of security. they also have the bows and arrows and cross bows i mentioned earlier. what more could you need and most of the stuff is on the second level in case the entrances and exits are breached. i wouldent use anything flamable to fight the zombies due to the fact that a burning zombie doesnt die instantly and will keep coming and likely set your strong hold on fire. i like to be prepaired for zombies because you will be ready for anything. zombies are a real threat with nano technology. once nano robots can repair cells and neuro connections in the brain there will be no need to keep the body alive and if the nano robots are self aware and need to propagate they will most likely spread much like a virus via biting. now you have zombies. cant wait till i hear about a scientist who decides to use nano tech to fix the human brain then were one step closer to the zombie apocalypse. oh wait were almost there http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m.../ai_n16131404/ i hope your all ready.

If an apocalyptic event like this is happening due to biological infections most of you posters including my self are probably zombies already. It is usually a small, I mean small % of the population that are immune to infections. At least that is what zombie theorist all agreed on. Just like infectious disease that plagued human in the history of mankind. Only a handful of people who survived a catastrophic event.
So I think you guys thinks too much and got too much time on your hand. If the time comes and you are that small % of population that is immune to the infection. Godspeed. Let it ride. Within our human psyche we are more prone to mental break downs when things are not going our way. All that planning only finding your self getting bite from behind when your frustrated, breaking down, or entering a state of hysteria.
