Just curious, do these ranges allow you to rent a gun by yourself if you already have another gun with you? I would think this rule would be a moot point?

Kinda remember that rule being introduced in the 80's. Just before it was introduced, some guy bought a pistol at Trader's, this was when the waiting periods were new, waited for the set amount of days, picked it up and shot themselves in the parking lot.

At work the next day, when I read the article, I said out loud "He should have just rented the damn gun, no waiting period, no purchase, no fuss." Some of the people at work just stared at me. Only a few laughed with me.

to me all that matters is the trigger. see how much time he spent on it. I don't care if the gun jams ,rifling and crown gouged, barrel changes inner dimensions. I got to have a good trigger

Not sure I think the policy is a bad idea, people are nutjobs. I would rather they off themselves at home.
