You should really find an ink pad with postal ink , stuff dries and don't just rub off .

Shoot revolvers, bolt-action and single shot and you won't lose any brass.

That spinning marker thingy looks like a lot of trouble. After I load a bunch, I just take a sharpie and mark the bottom as they sit in the tray.

After trying an ink pad and having it rub off I just went back to using a sharpie. I spent all that time reloading anyways, so what’s an extra few minutes? I also use it as a final qc check.

Anything around me is mine, including the flyers from other shooters. I use old PetCo cat litter plastic cases to collect it.

                  I do leave the .22's.

Whenever we go to the range, if an end stall is available, I’ll ask for those. I sweep everything out first and start clean. If someone is in the next stall or I see tiny brass (you 9mm guys know who I’m talking about!), I’ll ask the guys if they’re collecting their brass.

I’ll usually shoot a box of 50 or so and sweep. Then, pick up at the end.

There was this one time at USI when these guys descended on the brass like monkeys! Lol!
                    Funky!

I use a wide chisel point marker on mine. It covers almost half the case head and stands out pretty well.

I mark cases across primers with a sharpie, much like several examples above, but I do it while they are in the Hundo case gauge. Since I load very long, when I put the gauge on the flat table the bottoms stick out just enough so I don't mark the gauge, while keeping the rounds very still so they don't wiggle as I mark them. Takes almost no time.

The markings are good to quickly notice my brass in the dirt. Since I shoot outdoors, there is a lot of very old brass lying all over the place and I don't want to mix it with my brass. The markings are not used to enforce my property...

Is there any concerns in using a sharpie on the sides of the cases? Not expecting to draw pretty pictures or anything but it would be nice to make certain casings based on load differences.

I want to mirco-stamp my brass. Oh wait, that technology does not exist at all. I will have to stick with marking it with fairy dust.

For us that hand load, you definitely want your brass back! Too much of your time and effort goes into loading the cartridges and mr. brass pirate is not getting any!
