    4,000,000 Magazines

Someone reported yesterday that 4,000,000 gun magazines were sold in CA since Friday; how would they know - does it seem accurate?
    1. Compared to what?
    2. At what cost?
    3. What hard evidence do you have?

      Conservative speculation.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

There's 4.2 million of us. Each have at least 1, average about 5 firearms. Each one of those firearms needs at least 3 mags.

With the news breaking last week, and how quickly we cleaned out vendors, I'd very much agree with this statement.

If they weren't in "common" use before, they sure as heck are now!

          Very doubtful.

Maybe 2 or 3 big vendors sold that many; my 2 cent speculation.

That's a total guess. Anyone on here could make a guess that could be more accurate.

I believe that might be accurate since I may or may not have ordered 1 million magazines myself.

There about a 100% chance that 4MM is significantly inflated.

I did see a NRA post about 300K being sold. Sounds more likely.

The bigger the number, the better for us. Accurate or not.

Didn't someone state in another thread that Brownells alone sold over 350,000 mags?

just like when the signature gathering was going on for Gunmagedon and we were all absolutely convinced we had way more than the required signatures, some here even said we easily had double the required number, and then we fell short.

I personally would be surprised if even a million mags got shipped, yes, I have seen some numbers posted here from vendors, but it does not add up to me. The majority of gun owners in Calif. still have no idea that this wonderful event even happened and the large majority didn't buy new magazines. Yes, the majority of Calgunners bought magazines, myself included (I bought 6, 2 for each semi I own (I am a revolver kind of guy)) but we CG'ners are the minority of gun owners in Ca. I bet that IF we could ever get a real number, I bet its under 500,000 magazines total. Just a real world view with my CG rose colored glasses off.
