I called Prepper earlier this morning to tell them thank you for all the effort they are putting in on our behalf. I personally talked to Zach, and not only was he kind and cordial, but he also said they are doing everything they can to fulfill orders as quickly as possible because they care very much about the situation here in CA. I feel that Zach and Prepper are entirely good to go.

Any delay or inconvenience involving an order is just a result of an influx in business well beyond their usual scope. Him answering the phone before most people are even at work just goes to show that they are likely coming in early and staying late, on behalf of CA buyers.

Complain if you want, but I have nothing but gratitude towards Zach and Prepper for their efforts.

The OPs experience at Preppers would've been cause for concerne to any first time buyer. Being unaware of the vendors reputation and clearly being given the run around. I'm sure Zach is a good honest guy that is just overwhelmed.

Don't fault the op for a well intentioned effort to warn others.

I know what it's like to process 600-1000 orders a day. Even with an organized warehouse your pick tickets take hours to process then boxing then shipping. We are shipping until midnight even though we are prepared. Huge surges in volume are tough to deal with not enough time to train new workers to help, your regular employees are in strung out shape after a few days. Customers who send demanding emails or special requests get put to the side because you don't want to screw it up but at the same time you are under the gun because you don't want to lose the business if a stay gets handed down. Your usual super customer service goes out the window and you are in survival mode trying not to fall more than a day or two behind. So give the guys a break they can't outsource to a 3pl because most fulfillment houses won't touch 2A businesses with a ten foot pole. They are much better than skidtactical my order just skidded out the backside with full cancellation because their distributor only shipped them a fifth of their order. One of the reasons I hate dealing with people that drop ship or don't have inventory in house. It's the price I pay for supporting the small shops.

Don't forget Preppers has paid to upgrade all our orders to 2-day shipping. That is a huge deal. They didn't have a lot of profit in these mags to start with, the prices were not inflated. These guys aren't being shady, they are just overwhelmed.

No matter how good the reputation of the vendor, this extraordinary circumstance calls for people to diversify their order placements. Everyone needs to dig a little deeper and at least double up on mag orders from two vendors. If you end up with too many mags when the smoke clears, well they make great gifts!

I know folks who have ordered from 15+ vendors. Don't put your eggs in one basket.

Yeah it was pretty easy to figure out their "in stock" label was bs. Item said 5 in stock, I completed my order for all 5 and returned to the item where it then said 3 in stock. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that their online ordering system is not designed for rapid updates or high volume sales.

Ok, now we know which one you are and I for one will avoid you like the plague.

I personally think Preppers a place I have never purchased from, gave you a good explanation of why they could not refund you right away, but you could return the items for free and request refund after receiving it and I would have dropped it at that point...but I like to think I am reasonable.

I also see they went out of their way to grease the squeaky wheel that you were being, not sure I would not have done that, so that is 2 pluses for them and still one negative for you.

I also spoke with Zach yesterday online via chat and was also told cancellation isn't an option at this point, even though I was happy to pay the 6% fee. I'll admit that gave me pause, but I also understand why it'd put them in a terrible situation if all of us call them up to cancel our orders for whatever reason. I know it's frustrating that our orders haven't shipped, but even though I haven't shopped at Prepper before, I know they have been friendly to CA for a long time and often go above and beyond to work with us when other online vendors would have turned us down. The last thing I want is for all this to put them under when they were the first ones to jump in and start taking orders Friday night. So, I'll just wait it out and see what happens. Que sera sera.

Do I wish I had waited and ordered from one of the big guys on Monday? Sure. That may be the lesson for the future. But for now, let the guys at Prepper do their thing.

PGS has never been anything but excellent to everyone I know who's shopped there. Every company is going to have a bad review here and there, but Preppers is still a solid company, and their explaination makes perfect sense to me.

Preppers was the tip of the spear by openly declaring their intent to f some s up.
They alone were the first to announce their new policy and they alone caused others to follow.

It does not matter if they never ship a single mag. I don't even care if they never had any inventory to begin with. Their direct action caused others to follow suit and that's all that matters.

This is about far more than "muh mags", and if you had nothing to drill out, and put 100% of your orders into a single vendor, well, you're legitimately dumb.

The joy of my packages arriving in the mail. Grasping them as they are handed to me by a bluehaired freak with a nosering and rainbow tattoos. I get to experience that on a daily basis now.

Preppers was first on the call
Jestice was first to update shipping terms to FOB
Brownells was the first MAJOR shop to open the floodgates
PSA not only opened the floodgates, they submitted an affidavit, painting a target on their backs
Magpul was the first major manufacturer to open the floodgates to direct sales.

I don't care that Preppers backed off, they inspired others to jump in. All that matters. This is how direct action works and ensures total victory in what is already a total war. Recognize what this is and adjust tactics accordingly. It's great that this went through legal channels, but there must be zero hesitation allowed when the door opens even a little.

When someone is willing to be the tip of the spear, and does a great job at being that tip. You reward the hell out of them and keep them pointy and sharp regardless. And we can all enjoy giving the scum in sacramento the full shaft up to their eyeballs.

One shouldn't be so quick to judge. One can only answer one phone call and TT one customer at a time or reply email. What can one reasonably expect from a small vendor when hundreds or even thousand of customers dire for same answers?

Cut the guy some slack! If order don't come to fruition down the road, then that's a different argument.

Until then, get some real life experience and develop some people skills.
