Concern about Prepper Gun Shop

OP, under normal circumstances I think your concerns would be warranted. But PGS and all those other first vendors came back from the weekend facing 600% of what their usual amount of orders are. Not only that, but these were big orders. I purchased 20+ mags from them that first day too and many others here did as well. I think it should've been expected that an order would've taken longer than usual to ship and that communication with vendors at that time would've been lacking. The practice of listing items as 'In stock' when those items are actually at some 3rd party warehouse or still need to be acquired from a distributor is also a well-known occurrence with businesses like these. I can appreciate Prepper notifying us that our orders were cancelled and then following up with the notification that all previous CA orders would be shipping after all. It's better than what most of these other vendors did by keeping their buyers up in the air wondering when, or if, the order would be fullfilled.
Prepper isn't a vendor that's known to rip off buyers or try to skate out of a problem. Customer service on their end is thought to be pretty good, and they were a vendor who continued to do business with CA despite the laws we had. All of that said, if Prepper made the guarantee that you absolutely would be getting your order, I think you should've given them more time to get the work done.Comment

A friend had a similar issue with Grab-A-Gun. He ordered something early Saturday morning. He still had no tracking number as of yesterday morning and contacted him. He was told that they were waiting for some of his order to arrive from an off site warehouse and it should ship by Friday. It ended up shipping yesterday afternoon.
PGS is as someone else mentioned, usually pretty good. I think they like most other places are backlogged. I know it is frustrating but I would not flame them over it. To tell you the truth, at this point, I am not sure you will get anything quicker anywhere else given the demand."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Prepper Guns is one of the most upstanding and reliable merchants I have ever dealt with. I've talked to Zach personally and he bent over backwards to get me every gun I ordered, in a CA legal format in time for the 01JAN17 deadline.
OP - Really?!?! Alert the community?!?! Where have you been?
We all start sometime, joining within the last week and the only thing you can do is slam a solid established vendor? - BTW, one of the first vendors to step up to the plate and risk DOJ wrath by selling SCMs to CA. Preppers was slammed with orders, many us us had a hard time even placing an order - their website crashed several times. You should be thankful you were even able to get your order through.
Welcome to the community, but when your introduction is nothing more than a wanky whine about your indecisiveness ...
BTW Preppers had my order to me on TUESDAY! I'm truly impressed Preppers along with all of the other vendors have been able to ramp up delivers as quickly as they have. We all realize this window of legality is likely finite, take advantage of it while you can or spend the rest of your time in CA lamenting the fact that you sat on the sidelines.Comment

PrepperGS has been CA friendly long before the LCM came up last week. When I put in my orders with several companies, this weekend, I knew they were going to get flooded, so that is why I ordered through several different companies.
The usual rules don't quite apply here because of the unprecedented amount of orders these small companies who put their neck out on the line for us were going to get inundated with. They were not built to handle these amount of orders.
If several months later you still don't receive a refund, yes I can understand you escalating the issue. But one week into this mess, isn't enough time for us to join your ire.Comment

I ordered from RTG on Friday, they still have not shipped, though the order has been "processed". You have got to take into consideration the scope of this situation, and the suddenness with which it occurred. A little understanding and patience will go a long way.Last edited by glilon; 04-04-2019, 12:03 PM.Comment

I run a business, if my load of orders suddenly increased by 500 times, I too would be overwhelmed.
I've not bought from these 2 companies, so I cannot vouch for either of them, but in my opinion, everyone needs to "take a chill pill" and let things happen.
No business owner wants to ever let a customer down, or turn down profitable business, unless the customer is being unreasonable or has demands that are beyond what the company can provide. At which point we "fire the customer".
Unless there is a tearing emergency reason to get the tracking number, or to receive the shipment for a special event, let the suppliers process the orders to the best of their ability.
Of course the uncertainty of possible changes to the law are concerning, but calling 5 times a day or emailing the vendors is not going to change how quickly the grass grows.
All the calls, emails, chat requests, etc may slow things down, as the vendors do not have unlimited staff, and the smaller ones are probably mom and pop places that have only a few people who do everything from answering the phones to pulling and packing orders.
Asking others to boycott our vendors is not going to help anyone. Think of these people (yes, they do get money, do get paid for it, etc), getting home after an exhausting probably 16 hour day, collapsing with a beer in their hand on the sofa, and then having to face the wrath of thousands of Californians with unreasonable demands the following day. Some may choose to not ship to CA any more based on the unreasonable demands. That will hurt us too.
And think also of the vendors who are stuck with thousands of 10 round magazines and the California market not there any more... they had to invest the money, take the risk, and are now stuck with items with a reduced demand, they may sit with them for many years.Comment

OP I placed 5 diff orders on Friday around 8pmish , preppers being one of those. I have not heard anything from 4 of those companies as all my orders are still listed as processing. Jestece Arms so far has been the only one to ship.
You have to remember not all of these places have the mags in stock , they all have to order from some distributor or another. While agree the wait sucks , you can’t really get mad here , it’s like ordering the day before xmas eve and wondering why your products aren’t here within 24 hoursWTB:
1)AR15 Aero Precision Skeletonized Lower
2)S&W 686 6in barrel ...686 No dash through 686-4
3) Saltworks M5 upper/lower set

"Grave legal risk"--holy drama. You really think DOJ will come prosecute you if Prepper ships Monday instead of today?
This is ridiculous. It's a small business that got flooded with an unprecedented number of orders. Prepper has been a good company for a log time.
You chose to order from a small business knowing there was going to be a flood of order. You could have waited to order from a giant with major logistics capabilities like Primary Arms, Brownells, or Midway. You didn't.
Third, most of you are panicking because you don't have a sense for the speed for the legal process. That's understandable, but the conventional wisdom last Friday was that there would be a stay by this Friday, which I said was likely wrong. It doesn't look like that will happen. In fact, I highly doubt there will be a stay by next Friday either. It's not even clear there will be a stay.
Fourth, nobody is stopping you from making another order elsewhere. If Prepper doesn't ship before a stay is placed, I'm sure they'll give you your money back. At worst, you have double the mags you expected and you can either keep them, sell them before the stay is placed, or return them to Prepper. If they don't accept your return after you have requested a cancellation of the order prior to the order shipping, I suppose I may understand why you'd be upset.
Try to have some grace, patience, and understanding instead of joining a forum and making your second post bashing a business that has long been good to its members. In case it wasn't obvious, nothing I write here should be interpreted as legal advice.Comment
