Literally blame President Kushner for this.
Being talked into folding a winning hand by wormtongueesque advisors is part and parcel of GOP administrations.

The length of time it would take for Trump & Congress to do all three of those, with the obvious leftist judges throwing stays and other obstructions, would be a decade or more. They had enough on their plates with all the other garbage that Manafort, Bannon, etc. brought to the administration, and there's only one person to blame for that, and that person's name is Trump. Chaos multiplied by nasty politics is not going to result in effective results.

Asked before - just curious - did any circuit support confiscation of magazines?

If not, is it common practice to slice and dice offending legislation (this part stays, this one goes) or are they struck down in entirety?

Well we shall see. Apparently you're not a big fan of Judge Benitez' well reasoned, Constitutionally based decision in support of arguably the main pillar of the Bill of Rights. okey dokey.

Good luck getting past the Senate filibuster with the bare 51 seat majority. Not making excuses for GOP Republicans, they failed on a ****load of things in the first two years of Trump, but the Democrats would definitely not have countenanced a further stacking of their beloved Ninth Circus while the Senate filibuster existed.

I am not sure where condescending tone comes from. I have asked a simple question. Thank you for answering.
While I am not a lawyer, I am a person of far more than average intelligence, so it has to be possible to explain matters of law to me in plain language terms.

I was not aware that any circuits upheld laws requiring to surrender standard capacity magazines in post Heller world. I thought they are all been grandfathered. I guess situation is worse than I hoped for.

It is interesting in the decision that a major factor was the lack of evidence the state put forward. In the appeal, the state is going to have to argue the rules of evidence don't apply in these cases and the appeals court is going to have to say what standard of evidence is necessary in intermediate review. To overturn the ban, part of the decision is going to have to be the quality of evidence submitted for review to base a decision on. That alone could drive this to SCOTUS.

whoa, this thread just got a whole lot more depressing..
(I know it is more pragmatic way of looking at things)
