Before I was 21, I had no problem buying "dual use" ammo when I informed them it was for a long gun.

That has been a bit ago though, and was in NorCal.

This was about 15-years ago now, but she was calling me all sorts of names and insults regarding the size of my ... well you know because I hunted.

I love dealing with the above comment. When someone insults you because they tell you you are compensating for having a small unit, here is a great reply.

Just respond back "Your sister told you about it didn't she, it had to be your sister because your mother said she wouldn't say anything

You should say sometime like, "Are you a vegan then? If you eat meat, someone has to kill the animal first you know. So are you saying that it's okay to purchase meat at the store, but it's not okay to hunt?"

You could also ask them about fishing. That's considered hunting too.

Chances are they are vegan/vegetarian which pisses me off since most vegans are pro-choice. Yeah, THAT makes sense...

And as for buying pistol ammo when you are under 21, it is perfectly legal. You are not allowed to buy ammunition for a handgun, however if you have a rifle that uses handgun ammunition it is perfectly legal to buy it. It's why Walmart asks if it's for a pistol or rifle (which is why it irks older people because even if they said pistol they still get to purchase it, so why bother asking?). The only catch is that a store may prohibit you from purchasing ammo if they believe you are a minor with the intent to use it in a handgun. Like if you walk into Turners bragging about how you found your dad's 1911 and then walk up to the counter with a box of .45 then they have every right to tell you that they won't sell it to you (it's ATF regulations).

It could be worse. I purchase my first rifle at 19, a Ruger 10/22. Big 5 let me buy the rifle but wouldn't let me buy ammo for it because it used handgun ammo. I just went across the street to Target and loaded up on about a dozen different types.

Man you guys have all the luck I've never had anybody say jack to me. I wear my AR15.com, DSA FAL, and "When all else fails vote from the rooftops" tee shirts around the malls and department stores and never get a rise.

-- I did have my mistress ask me why I needed all those guns when she stumbled upon my old personal website once. I dumped her after that.

                Dont Tread on Me

I got some real stick from a purple haired pierced girl working at the Border's cafe in Sunnyvale when buying some gun mags with my coffee. Thinking back I should have asked for the manager.

I had a good experience in the Sunnyvale Big 5 when getting my hunting license this year. I thought I was going to get a hard time from the blond working the checkout. Turned out she was from Texas and liked hunters I guess she did not have the same view on hunter's natural equipment being underpowered.

When my dad and I were buying about 500 rounds of 9mm from Walmart, the guy at the counter was real comfortable with us and even offered, "Come back soon, theres plenty to go around.". All the other people in the sports sectioned stared at us as we carried our bags filled with ammo from the sports countered, probably previously unaware that Walmart carried ammo.

Guys, if you have a stuck up person working the walmart desk, saying that pistol ammo is for a rifle WILL NOT WORK. I tried that this week and the dumb Bit....woman would not let me buy it (and it was for a rifle, my friends Thompson).

I think I am going to have to try the "Neither, its for my machinegun" responce though

On the other hand, I've never had anyone tell me anything other than my mom (who just hates guns for some reason, or...maybe its because I have so many. ) Maybe its because I'm just so damn intimidating they don't say anything?

                          I will vote for a donkey-sex maniac if he's pro-gun.
