    Massachusetts college disarms cops !

"When seconds count police are only minutes away. That’s an old pro-gun meme that we’re all familiar with and it’s based on solid logic. But if you attend or work at Massachusetts College of Art and Design it doesn’t apply. You can’t even count on the police to help you against an armed criminal. Because not only is it a gun free zone, the libtards in charge there won’t even allow their campus police to carry firearms!"

Just ran across this from democrat stronghold Massachusetts, where the idea of guns are so hated they will not even allow campus cops to carry!

although this dimwitted college would not want suggestions for keeping campus police safe. It occurred to me they could put a race type engine in their campus golf carts, so if shooting starts the resource cop could make a quicker getaway.

This technique of driving a golf cart away from gun fire when students are bleeding out worked very well for Parkland coward cop Scot Peterson.

Maybe Broward Coward Scot( short pants) Peterson can start a consulting/manufacturing firm to modify standard golf carts as to increase the horsepower for an even quicker get away !

I think there is an assumption that what they describe as campus 'police' are sworn officers of the law. Many colleges, even state schools, use private security instead.

What level of coverage do they have from local police?

Besides not every good guy, with a gun, is a good guy with a gun. What was their standards for firearms proficiency? Arming people just for the sake of having somebody armed doesn't do anybody any good.

Campus cops and cops are not the same thing. Campus cops are usually security guard types who enforce parking and make sure buildings are locked at night. They have neither the training nor the mindset to perform a dynamic entry during an active shooting event.

      Nothing burger.

You've got to admit it would have been way cooler to be on guard, hanging out in the sallyport while armed (other than with white slips to Jenkins).

Oh, absolutely. I did have the giant letter opener sword senior year.

I heard from a Tac Officer that one time way back when a cadet did something major of campus, i think it was a dui with injuries or something, and they issued 1911s to the cadets outside his room.

I was too in awe to throw a bs flag on a commissioned officer.

Armed Security is a liability for the school.....

Disarming LEO... especially after Florida... seems dumb to me -

              Dumb is the new thing....
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Maybe they don't see the need to arm their campus security team?

Pretending you know what's best for someone else is a two way street.

Guns save lives is a proven non debatable fact . Having police unarmed is like having no protection at all considering it takes an armed man to stop an armed man!

I often wonder how a big strong angry bat wielding pyscho could be stopped w/o a firearm.

Guns don't save lives any more than they take them.

You can't say "guns don't kill people, people kill people" in one situation, then argue an inanimate tool saves people in another breath.

Depends on the institution. Just like some agencies in middle America are Barney Fife while others get made into TV shows, universities are the same.

I know one campus agency in my area, with full-time LEOS, that conducts yearly training operations during non-academic sessions in coordination with surrounding agencies and those that want to practice their active shooter response.

I know of another institution in my area that only has a security gate man who wears a polo (with no actual gate...).

It's entirely dependent on the institution.

Funny how one of the very places that founded this country now fights against what it was founded on.

While having armed campus security may not necessarily save lives if an attack occurs, it at least gives the illusion of a "harder target" and therefore may help prevent the attack in the first place.

At this point, what is the point? Its not like cops, security or teachers are there to help and save you.
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!
