I still love my guns i just stopped buying them. figured out a new addition to what i already have does not make me happier.
I now re load the calibers i still have, not giving one penny to new anti gun CA if i can help it.
It is barely cost effective to re load 223 but i do it so i will always have ammo.
Ban 223 well F U CA i can provide a platoon with 223 for a very long time.
See you at the barricades maybe some day.

OP cared enough about shooting to post here. That's a sign.

I took an enforced shooting break for 6 months due to shoulder surgery. I also changed shooting venues due to my move to NC.

Both of those combined have made me more excited about shooting than I've been in several years. I think we all need a break from things sometimes and maybe this is what the OP needs.

Take some time off, maybe get into other shooting types. If you don't reload, get into it and buy a chronograph. The challenge of accurate reloading and recording the data can be a fun time in itself. My new range is very chrono friendly and I'm going to get it out and chrono my rifle reloads, something I couldn't due at the other range I belonged to.

          Best of luck!

It's one part hobby and three parts civil rights. Hopefully you don't forget the second part even if you don't go shooting as often.

But this is Calguns after all, where we ridicule and fight with our fellow gun enthusiasts more that we do with the anti's. I totally understand the op. Here in the Bay Area there is no where left to go shoot but those stuffy over priced indoor ranges or Livermore. I still like guns but definetly don't shoot much anymore, other than a little bird hunting. It's pretty much a rap around here.

                  I am far more calculated.

Things were easier 30 years ago.

But I have followed the law and retain to places that I know for shooting.

I've also obtained a 03+COE to buy ammo on demand regardless of what may inhibit me.

I reload and keep a stock of supplies for it.

I have become far more intellectual about this as being a hobby. Just because it means so much to me.

I literally have all the guns I could ever need. Also does my immediate family.

If I can keep us stocked on reloads or ammo that's fine with me.

Another point that's important is what this idea of being a free American makes you think about stocking and prepping for anything to come.

                  That is invaluable.

Pass your love of guns and freedom on to at least two young people - preferably a whole lot more than that. But if you can at least win over two for life, you have multiplied.

I don't love firearms and I actually don't consider it to be all that fun to shoot them. I certainly admire their craftsmanship!

But it would be difficult to find someone more committed to the right to self-defense and I think it should be considered an obligation of all responsible and able-bodied citizens to be armed and trained to at least some reasonable degree.

So I have firearms and I've had training - and I support the right to self-defense as if my freedom depends on it. . .

OP just remove all that junk from your AR and slap a regular mag release. No DA would send a 70yr old to prison.

I hate indoor ranges but love shooting outside. The closest BLM for me is about 2 hours (Hodge Road) and while that is ok, boy is it a long day.
This was me 6 months ago, but I was only going out 1-2 times a year, and I hate ranges.
I started shooting with 200 Apples and Pennstater in the Mojave last fall (about 15 miles west of Hodge rd) I needed guys like these, not only to teach but to push me out shooting. I'm now reloading and I can hit a basketball size target with my 1911. I really lucked out meeting these two gentlemen. I don't know how they put up with me.

OP, your more than welcome to join us for a day in the Mojave. We always have a blast (pun intended)

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Kind of the opposite effect on me, the more restrictions that were placed on guns, the more energized I got about them and getting the ones I wanted before it was too late.

Guns are one of my hobbies and C&Rs align with my life long interest in history. I'd have to say that I had lapses at various times over the last 30 years when guns just stayed in the safe and I paid no attention to them...the longest lapse period being about a 14 year period...but I came back when I had more time for them...the interest was still there...just needed the time. One factor that has deaden the spirit a bit is all the places I use to shoot without having to go too far out of town are gone. I'd say this is one of the biggest factors on why I might go shooting now only about 3 times a year.
