Went there this morning to shoot for an hour. Still no gun sales. Now the signs on the counter have Match 15th hand written as possible date to restart sales again.
Like I said before- sitting on so much inventory has got to really hurt a business. Hope they come out of whatever is going on a better company. Good luck TM.NRA & CRPA member

Hopefully they survive this and they do open on the 15th. More importantly, I hope they learn a valuable lesson thru this. Perhaps they will re-think their policies and procedures to streamline the purchase and PPT process.
That said, I used to go there a long time ago. Mostly to browse the gun selection and their rental range. We didn't have another rental range around (this was way before GFOS in Dublin opened). I hated the date night crowd at the range and the selfie taking while on the line. Was truly shocked that the range wasn't better supervised. I like Reeds much better. Both are quite a drive from the San Ramon area though. I'm now up in Martinez and there aren't any nearby shooting ranges. I too miss Chabot and USI. They have insane good pricing. however the fact that they are so far from my house, and the amount of paperwork and hassle that comes from buying their keeps me away.sigpic

Fwiw, the sales counter has been open a few weeks now at targetmasters.
However, I went in today to pick up a purchase and the gun range itself was shut down due to an environmental inspection /audit. There were auditors taking lead samples in various locations, and I saw the owner outside in the parking lot conferring with a couple of the auditors. Not sure if was a city, county or state audit ( or a combination thereof), but it sounded like it wasn't the first such audit they've had recently. There was also mention of a reporter making contact and asking related questions.
Not sure what to make of it, but it didn't sound routine...sigpicComment

I like TM. I hope they stay open since I live in Milpitas.
Did two PP transfers last year. Took a couple of hours, but no problems.
The range is rundown some I agree.Comment

I enjoy shooting at TM at night on weekdays. The range is relatively empty, and those that are there are experienced enough that I don't need to worry about new holes in me. Most times, I walk around from bay to bay to see which lane is ideal and they let me pick. Their prices for both range and guns are fair, the only issue I've had was PPT, and that's all directly due to the owner not wanting PPTs done there. Take it for what it is, but the options of indoor ranges is diminishing, and if those of you refuse to shoot there, there will be less and less options for those that aren't as bu77hurt as easily.

To be fair...most people refusing to shoot there have seen safety issues. Are you saying they should ignore safety and not be butthurt about that?I enjoy shooting at TM at night on weekdays. You yourself say you only go when it's less busy and "those that are there are experienced enough that I don't need to worry about new holes in me". Which means you have seen the safety issues as well.
Not everyone can shoot only during the "safe" hours which is why they likely don't go. I have plenty of customers use the range.. they are typically retired and go during the day mon-fri.. likely another "safe" time to go as they have never experienced some of the safety issues I have read about previously.UG Imports - Fremont, CA FFL - Transfers, New Gun Sales

I have been to every indoor range in the bay area on more than one occasion, and never have I been to one without safety issues. I have been to gun stores and been muzzled by sales people. I have been to ranges and muzzled. I go when the number of shooters are lower, which means the possibility of having an accident is lower. That doesn't only apply to TM, but any range, it's just that TM is open later than most other ranges, which is a YUGE benefit. To be fair...most people refusing to shoot there have seen safety issues. So yes, some complaints here are just butthurt people crying about a range they admittedly haven't even been to, and are only avoiding it because of "I heard/I read" stories. Their prices are more than fair. They spend some extra time to verify all requirements are met. All businesses have their flaws, it seems like TM threads always point out their flaws and very few show their benefits.
So your comment isn't fair. Please tell me which range, other than a private one, would be without issues? I have seen ghetto people shooting at Reeds, GFOS, and formerly Jackson Arms. Less so at TRAP, but they were not without safety issues regardless. The inconvenience of poor quality lingers long after the thrill of a good bargain.Comment
