    Arming teachers

I’ve see news stories and read articles.

It should happen. I don’t have any kids, but even I recognize that if I did, I would definitely want someone with the kids best interests at heart...and a gun, to protect them.

    My suggestion for concealed carry.

    Sorry, not sorry.

I'd allow teachers to conceal carry, if they wish. My mom would hate to be required to carry. I don't believe saving lives needs to be a part of a teacher's requirements for employment. Really out of their zone.

It was amusing the first time it was posted. After the 10th...or whatever we're up to...not so much.

      What else ya got?

        Sorry - no

Teachers would end up killing more students than the perps.

Even cops often shoot fellow officers - and they have regular, intense training.

Think of the namby pamby teachers your kids have today - they'd either hurt themselves, or far more likely, kill our children

This simply is not true. Some cops do but many don't. There are many cops that only shoot a couple times a year for qualifications. Many departments simply don't have the budget for ongoing and continued training. Especially the smaller departments.

Additionally, the notion that teachers would kill more students than perps is absolutely comical. 32 students were killed at Virginia Tech, for example. The notion that an armed teacher would kill that many students during an attack is so ridiculous it doesn't even warrant a response.

Lastly, there are certainly teachers that are not capable and should not be armed. But there are certainly some that are. We know, for example, that there are former military and law enforcement that have gone into teaching. Nobody is suggesting that this type of thing be mandatory for ALL teachers. And nobody is suggesting that the teachers not receive training.

I strongly disagree with everything you wrote out of ignorance.

This is the textbook fallacious argument of the left. The fact that you (and they) would rather let a mass shooter just keep gunning down students until a SWAT team arrives 10 to 30 minutes later absolutely boggles my mind. Your willingness to submit yourself to a helpless victim mentality, and to force our children into that role, is unnatural. Sadly, your entire post illustrates the continued pussification of America.

Maybe regular, but rarely intense training! But good enough to hit a chihuahua!

The liberal mindset really pisses me off. I've heard / read the argument more times than I can remember that, "Arming teachers won't make a difference as when a gunmen walks into that classroom, the teacher will NOT have time to get their gun"

Soooooo stupid! Really? What about the next classroom and every classroom after that? When THEY hear gunshots down the hall.....and they lock the door and get the kids in a corner....When a gunman walks into THAT room...he'll find a gun pointed at him the moment he enters. Game over. Period.

                        Where's the common sense?

I am pro 2A, but most teachers and I am talking upward of 80% are not quite there. Most became teachers not because they wanted to, but because they were forced too after spending time finding themselves in arts and crap. I work with some and most have a short fuse and extremely childish.

Not all teachers need to be armed. 20% who are ready, willing, and able is more than enough.
