My one Kansas buddy has a Ranch home on a little knoll that we sit on his back deck at night around his fire pit and take turns shooting varmints 100yds out at a turkey feeder under a light in front of his barn.

My Louisiana bayou (gal) friend is one heck of a pistol shot from her front porch while enjoying an adult beverage.

My bowhunting buddy that lives out of Elizabeth, Co has a big enough place where we can shoot coyotes from his deck as they cruise the creek bottom. Oh, and a nice little action pistol range on his place too.

Hanging with those guys^ is about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on.

When we first moved to our Ranch in Soledad, I would shoot squirrels from the front porch. Did not last long because I shot them all!

          Wow, much FUD.

I live in Fresno county on 5 1/2 acres. I don't shoot centerfire rifles off my "porch" just to be courteous to my neighbors due to the noise, but everything else is fair game. Same goes for all my neighbors.

Although it would be nice to shoot out the door.

I personally am looking for places that have decent public shooting ranges as thats where friends meet!

So far California has not passed gun laws that have forced me out.

I've watched quite a few YouTube videos by Hickok45 and one video showed him open a crate of Mosins in his driveway that showed his famous test range is just steps from his front porch. I believe he is in Tennessee.

Right. Up until three years ago I shot twice a month on my fathers property in grass valley. He had 16 acres but we literally stepped out into the front yard, sat at a picnic bench and shot 75 yards. Many times, especially holidays, the neighbors would be shooting as well.

The only upside of him selling is that I now shoot at Lincoln (Dillman) Rifle Range and it is 25 minutes closer and I can shoot farther.

I just went into escrow on 5 acres in Carson City.
I will have about 400ft of river frontage on the Carson River and almost unlimited BLM lands about 1/4 mile away.

My woman and I bought 6.6 acres in Washington a few months ago, we are leaving California by February 1st.

I'll miss my friends but I won't miss California.
