Gen 3 GLOCK 17 standard service model
Gen 3 GLOCK 19 Compact model
the G19 seems to be more popular because it's a little easier to carry for concealed carry
people with larger hands might like the G17 since the grip is a little longerLast edited by omega; 11-25-2018, 11:30 PM. -
The one that YOU shoot the best.
You will get so many different opinions and they will all probably be right for the person giving the opinion, but most will be wrong for YOU.
So go to a range that rents the 17 and the 19 and start with those two and see which YOU shoot better.Randall Rausch

19 is my choice but if you have larger hands, your pinky might might hang off the grip. In that case, the 17 would work better.
For HD, a mounted light is recommended.Comment

I have a G17, and have shot the G19. Even though I have smaller hands, but longish fingers, I like the grip, and the slightly greater weight, compared to the G19, tames recoil a bit better. I also like the G17's longer sight radius.
It is still a good idea to get your paws on them to see which fits you best.
Let us know what you decide.

THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is the only answer that will help you OP. FYI I went to try out a Glock 21 and Glock 30 twenty one years ago and I ended up buying the G30. For some reason I couldn't shoot the G21 as well at the time. Listen to the above quote. The one that YOU shoot the best.

BTW even try a G26. Since they all feel different in your hand, you never know which one might work for YOU!Originally posted by FjoldI've been married so long that I don't even look both ways when I cross the street.Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program.
