Ear muffs vs ear plugs

You should always wear muffs inside, or when shooting high power rifles. The muffs will protect the bone of your ear from damage. Your ears will tell you if you need to add the plugs from sound leakage. I usually wear both unless I have my better 30db muffs.Comment

Both is the right answer.Comment

Guess I am doing it right, 40 years running steam and gas turbines and my hearing testes at work just showed normal hearing loss due to age. Kinda surprising since I shoot and rode alongside other Harleys with loud exhaust systems (no helmet days
).

Both. Only way to shoot in total comfort.Comment

I use plugs outdoors, have no issue, they work great even on my noisy muzzle brake rifle when standing to the side and letting someone else shoot it. But At an indoor range I found I needed to go ahead and add the muffs.https://thedeplorablepatriot.com/

I wear both. I messed up my hearing as a roady way back when. I can't afford to loose any more.Comment

If it’s hot outside, plugs only. If it’s not, muffs only. I always double up when indoors.Comment

I have doubled up for some time now. I highly recommend that.Comment
