Another good point. That would pretty much suck in the case of an emergency. But when deal with a large supply of ammo I cant just leave it in a corner.

Who do you think recomended the freezer. A fireman who after he put out a fire would open the frige and get a cold drink. INSULATION is great!!

Looks kind of narrow for a variety of ammo.... I mean unless it has shelves or your build them all the way up to store more variety or just stack 1 kind to the top.

Job Box's are like $250 at HD, not for inside the house but can store stuff in them like ammo cans. A LOT more secure than that safe on amazon too.... just something to think about.

I'm open to whatever at this point. I gotta hit HD tomorrow anyway. I will take a look. I honestly didnt think about that as an avenue of storage. Haha, you know how you get one thing stuck in your head and you get that kinda blinder effect. Yeah, that was me. This whole time I was thinking I was gonna get a cheap safe and I was looking at these things thinkin, 'hmmm, that wouldnt stop a screw driver'.

Good thing I got you guys on here.

$999 Costco Cannon safe is nice. Obviously more $ but you could store about 5-10 rifles + a TON of ammo

and other people have suggested safes... thanks for playing, I can suggest what I want and give him more options To some people their safe may be $4k+ and $999 may not be TOO much to store only ammo in.. you never know

Now a Hazmat Locker would be PIMP. Cant afford that one though.

yeah, $999 for a ammo locker. I really like the tool chest idea from HD. The last thing I need to do is dump another grand or 2 on a safe. Im gonna hit HD tomorrow and tell you guys what I find.

The Hons are much more solid than the average office storage cabinet. The shelves hold as much weight as I can fit on them and are movable which is nice if you store ammo in metal ammo cans or dry boxes. This set-up also gives me room to lock up my range bag and other gun related items that I don't want out and about.
This is what I use. I bought mine online for a little over $200 delivered. Make sure you get a heavy duty cabinet, and check the shelf rating. The one I got had shelves rated for 200lb each.
