That dude could shoot, those were some tough shots. Not easy to hit something that fast, especially from a moving platform. I don’t care how good your equipment is, that was some impressive shooting.

Thank you sir! I had great communication with my pilot and have flown with him multiple times over the years which really helped. I'd let him know once I identified a target and he'd maintain heading, speed, and alt as I engaged. Scope was on 3x (minimum) but appears to be much higher mag due to editing.

Also... we usually use cans. However, did not have one for this particular rifle on site. The propellant in the rounds I was using is relatively slow burning but the rifle has a very short barrel. In addition to the blast from the brake, my poor pilot was getting blasted by powder every time I shot. He was a great sport about it. I switched to a shotgun the following days, lol.

Pretty sure that’s just murder - only counts if the game has a shot at you too. Culling is one thing, but hunting is not the same thing as shooting at animals.

The black wildebeest was culled. Notice how many we passed up. This specific one was targeted due to age (past reproductive stage) and aggression towards other, younger bulls. The other animals shot are invasive and damage the potato and alfalfa crops. I get paid per head of jackals, duikers, bushbucks, baboons, and warthogs by the local farmers.

It looks like a lot of fun but then again, anything having to do with helo's usually is. I think that the OP should change the title of the thread to "shooting"... I have to agree its not "hunting'" and I suspect that Col. Cooper would agree.

I have to go with shooting animals rather than hunting also.

Then there are some that consider shooting a Deer that comes into the garden every morning hunting. Or paying up the nose to be driven in an ATV to a daily feeding spot on a ranch to shoot a Pig eating its lunch and call it a Pig hunt.

The part of hunting I enjoy most is the hunting skill part....shooting skill is just that, shooting skill. I enjoy the skill to get to the shot part of the hunt

But I would not enjoy doing that Helo thing even for free----to each their own

Awesome. There are different forms of hunting and each has a different skill set, purpose, and often need.

Shooting/hunting/culling from a helicopter is no small challenge.

Not my idea of 'hunting' rather be on the ground actually having to track find and take a clean shot...

Baiting,treeing,herding to a kill zone,all that crap should not be allowed..its not hunting.... if hunting it you better be eating it..

'Trophy hunting' and specially poaching ,are 2 things that really piss me off.

Hunting poachers would be better time spent. There is no such thing as "hunting" from a helo.

hell, i cant hit stuff from a good solid rest on the non moving ground,lol. the goal of any hunting is killing, capturing, etc your targeted game. wether you personally like different methods used by others we are all in the same boat. i hear some folks say hunting with dogs isnt really hunting but they themselves spend thousands of dollars on optics so they can shoot animals from 1000 yards away or more. if you enjoy or make money etc the way you hunt then awesome.
