How often do you Chamber Check

Probably a rehash of previous threads. But, times do change

I'm sure some people keep their guns locked up and unloaded with the ammo in a separate locked container - per California's suggestion. Others, probably have their weapon at the ready for home defense, while still others who CCW have their gun always ready. However, I really don't know what others do.

Me? All my regular non-target guns are loaded and in a safe. If I happen to take it out with me, I will chamber check prior to taking it out of the house.

Slide check, plus magazine check to make sure it is seated.

OH, MY gosh -- Yes, revolver owners can do a cylinder check too

Most of my guns are unloaded, except for those that are for home defense. But every time I open my safe and pick up a gun I do a check, regardless of whether i know it is loaded or unloaded.

I check visually and manually every time I touch a gun. Could have just checked it 5 seconds ago and I will check again if it left my hands even if I'm the only one within a mile of it.

My three CCW are loaded and chambered 24/7 with a spare mag. They may or may not be in the safe.
SP101 loaded with .357 in the nightstand.
All others unloaded and in the safe, but always chamber/checked before any handling. I go under the assumption that anything in the house is loaded.

No matter what...assume gun is loaded... check to confirm that it is or is not every time I touch it.

I know that all of my guns are loaded. I check every gun as I pick them up every time.

I do that too. It's a habit. It actually bugs me when I chamber check, hand a gun to someone, and they don't chamber check. --Although, if during the hand off the slide is locked back on an unloaded gun I do feel safer

I rack all of my pistols 8-10 times because it looks cool and really pisses some people off

I hand off with the slide locked back because I assume that they won't chamber check.
The exception is when I am handing off to someone that I know is fully competent and trusted, and even then, I will tell them that it is loaded.

The safety rule is to treat every weapon as if it is loaded UNTIL you personally verify that it is not.
If someone tells me that a gun is loaded, and I have no need for it to be unloaded, then I simply treat it as if it is loaded before handing it back.

This right here. It saved my hearing and my buddy's kitchen window once. He had just finished a 10/22 .22 short build and wanted me to check out the trigger. Checked the chamber and out popped a live round.

Any time I pick up or someone hands me a gun I check the chamber, if I don't know how to do so I ask.

I don't need to. There is a little pop-up thingy on my gun to tell me when it's loaded.
