Let's face it we have a shortage of ammo due to the fact that most of production are going to two wars. It's a free market, but you can still voice your opinion thru suggestion boxes. Fill one up and advice Walmart to limit the sales of ammo to __ (fill in a number) boxes per customer. Maybe the state should take the initiative in limiting how many rounds someone can buy at a time, or limit how many total rounds you can keep in your inventory??

They tried something like that, and failed; Thank God.

The problem's not you. It's the nature of gun boards to have weak sarcasm detection, sometimes even when aided by smilies.

I buy what I want, can afford and can find. Others opinions don't enter into the equation in the least.

Those who are complaining now (as in criticizing other's buying practices i.e. grabbing thousands of rounds the instant they are put out on the shelf) are doing it for one of two reasons.

One - they did not buy their own huge stash years ago when it was affordable, because they thought there would always be plenty available, when they needed it, at a reasonable price. Duh- wrong.

Two - they did not buy their own huge stash years ago because they were incapable of doing so - i.e. living on ramen noodles in a rented room on survival wages. For these folks I feel pity for I have walked in their shoes and have felt their pain. However if they have other non-essentials such as a big flat screen tv or fancy ride, then see reason one and NO SOUP FOR YOU.

Three - they think there is something inherently wrong with having more ammo on hand than you intend to shoot at your next range session. These people need a lesson in economics and maybe to go back and watch some footage of the Great Depression or the Weimar Republic, and learn the value of putting something aside for a rainy day.

Four - They bought huge quantities of ammo, and promptly shot it all up at the range having fun. Nothing wrong with that, but then don't gripe and whine when it gets expensive and difficult to obtain. Blame your lack of restraint. See reason 1.

What it all boils down to is Ant vs. Grasshopper. If you're sitting on a stash or buying all you can when you can, you're an Ant. If you whine and bellyache because you're trying to score some now, at the 11th hour, and it's hard because you procrastinated, well, that puts a Grasshopper label on you now doesn't it. Sounds like people the day after Katrina hit New Orleans complaining because all the stores are closed and the phones are out and now how are they going to order pizza for dinner. Should have thought of that earlier, shouldn't you?

I don't know why people think the verb 'hoard' has a nasty connotation.

You traded your labor for money, and then spent that money. My disposable income allowed me to buy ONE 100rd box of bird shot this month, and I'm all right with that. If your disposable income allows you to buy 400,000 rounds of bird shot, put it in a fleet of Hummers you bought, and then have your fleet driven by Swedish bikini models you hired, why should I care? Better yet, why should anyone here care?
