    Costa Mesa Gunshow

I decided to go on the spur of the moment. $5 parking, and you had to park in Irvine almost. The line to get in way back by where the cars come in. I drove around trying to find a decent parking place, and just left. Somebody said it was $14 entry. Is that true? Remember the good old days....last year.

My buddy said the line was a 1/4 mile long to get in! (he could of been exaggerating)

Expensive, crowded, and over priced for the most part. I found a scope and had some custom made in ear plugs made.

My son bought 1150 rounds in military surplus on stripper clips, case packed, $460.00. I just can't believe the pricing out there.

We were so hungry from the wait to get in, we stopped and bought two hot dog, large beer, and bottled water, only $24.00.

          I won't go again.

MiWall had some issues with their computers in the morning.
So, bunch of people ended up waiting for them to sort out the problems.
A lot of angry/impatient people at their booth.
Glad that I didn't have to wait in line for that mess.

In general, price was pretty stiff & didn't really find any bargains.
Ammo seems to be the hottest selling item at the show.
Usually, I get lucky and find a few small deals but none today.

It was really, really, really crowded.
It was very hard to move around because the crowd.

Parking was #$%*! (Edited for public viewing.)

Did I mention that it was crowded?

Last time I went, it was the last one that had free parking. I really see no point of going now to Costa Mesa when I can go to Ontario if I will be charged for parking. It's a lot closer for me.

And as always Saturdays are busy. I went there on Sunday afternoon if I was going to buy something or have a quick look around.

Availability is hit or miss nowadays obviously. If you can find what you want at www.surplusammo.com I've generally found the total price there (including shipping) to be about equal to the total price at the shows (including tax). Then you have to factor in the parking/entry fees and decide whether to add that to the price of ammo, or write that off as the cost of entertainment for the day.

Its not that hard to find cheaper.

It's a hit and miss thing when it comes to availability.

Although I had the same experiences as most of you, I actually had a blast at Costa Mesa today.
First off I hitched a ride there with fellow CalGunner "Retired" and had some good conversation on the way.(THANKS BILL!)
We managed to get there around 8:30 and the line was massive.
Although it took awhile to get tickets, the fellow gun enthusiasts in line were a pleasure to chat with, and my CA94 got alot of looks.
Once inside I made my way to the sugarfree Bob table and ordered all my Dillon stuff, and he was also real cool to chat with.
I picked up 1,000pc brass from member "eatdirt" for a good price, and again he was also a really nice guy, and invited us to go shooting out at his spot.(Thanks Rod!)
Basically I waited in alot of long lines, I overpaid for tickets, powder and primers, I didn't even sell my gun, BUT......
I DID, get a new Dillon650, new dueling tree, cheap brass and
a few hours with like minded Californians who all love to talk about GUNS!
Good Saturday if you ask me.

U actually stood in that line...

You guys must be noobs! If you would have just walked all the way up there is 3 ticket booths and the center line was only about 20 deep. I must have walked past 200 people!
