I'm still trying to figure out why any handguns are safe at all if don't have micro stamping? How are any on the roster?

All the semi autos on the roster were grandfathered in. But They keep making the rules tighter and tighter, to the point where no new semi autos are being added to the roster. I don’t recall the exact rules or the order in which they added them, but it was something like this:

Drop testing (relatively easy for a legit gun to pass)
Loaded chamber indicator (requires retooling, but relatively easy to comply if a manufacturer so chooses)
Micro stamping (darn near impossible)

So the state ratchets the rules down until no new guns can comply, slowly choking off our supply of guns. One might say “ But there are still hundreds of good choices on the roster!” And there used to be thousands. Soon there will be less than 100. And eventually zero.

The other issue is that the “grandfathering” only applies to the exact gun as it was built back before the new roster laws went into effect. Notice there are no colt 1911 on the roster? That’s because colt had a machine wear out and replaced it with a new machine during 2016. So commiefornia said it was a “new” gun and therefore needed to comply with the new microstamping requirements. So at the end of 2016, the colt 1911 fell off the roster, and will never return.

I'm waiting for one of the more religious/conservative states to use this ruling as justification to pass a law that states all abortions must be performed by that flying spherical droid-doctor from Star Wars.

(I'm not saying I'm in favor of such a law... just in favor of the legal/political dustup it would cause)

And all parts of the fetus must be micro stamped before being removed from the womb so they can be tracked if sold on the black market or used in lab testing.

All new cars must have a giant orange shark fin on the hood that pops up when the gas tank is filled.

All new cars must go through crash safety testing. If you offer the same model with different options: wheels, paint colors, leather vs cloth interior, etc., every possible combination must be separately tested.
