How long did it take for your CFARS approval?

My GF and I have been waiting for over 7 weeks now for approval on 3 of our rifles.

I submitted two "RAW" applications. They went through fine and were accepted without any corrections. The approval letters arrived about a month or so later. The only issue I see is that the items still show "pending" on the online transaction history, long after the letters were received.

my reg only took about 3 weeks. 2nd time was much faster.

the folks who reg at the beginning had to deal with reg issues.

The folks who waited 'til the last minute are probably waiting in a long line.

Also, if you reg with other folks (spouse, kids) the process may take longer.

Yep. Did two submissions on Thursday 06/21, realized I had made a mistake on one, so I did the "Report an Issue" thing. They responded that they are getting an extremely high volume of applications right now and they have no time frame when they would get to the review.

no, it does not have to be featureless until it comes in. keep them as they are until you get a letter.

DOJ says you can for the rest of this week:
Assault Weapons and .50 BMG Quick Links to Topics General FAQs “Other” Assault Weapons Military Assault Weapons Bullet Button Assault Weapons General FAQs What is considered an assault weapon under California law? What are AK and AR-15 series weapons? What is considered a .50 BMG rifle under California law? Can assault weapons and .50 BMG rifles still be registered? I already paid the Dealer's Record of Sale (DROS) fee and went through a DOJ record check when I purchased the firearm. Does that satisfy the registration requirement?

Can I take my AB 1135/SB 880 firearm to a shooting range up until the conclusion of the registration period, if the assault weapon is not registered yet?

Yes. During the registration period, firearms affected by AB 1135/SB 880 may still be used at shooting ranges by the owner.
In case it wasn't obvious, nothing I write here should be interpreted as legal advice.

Been almost 3 months so far for me.

I recently asked DOJ what the hold up is, and they replied that they'll get around to it eventually and it "will be processed in the order it was received"

Processing times are completely random. Some simple applications took 8 months to process, while some complicated applications only took 2 days. No rhyme or reason whatsoever.

The only advice I have is to just be patient, and check your status on their website every couple weeks to make sure they didn't kick back your app to request more/corrected info.

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Yes, and to add to that:

After this week, any BBAW's that haven't received a registration confirmation letter in the mail yet, should be disassembled until the letter arrives.

Registered 8. 4 applications were kicked back for corrections. 6 weeks after corrections, received letter. Website says they are still "in progress". Letter lists all 8.
