    Boresnakes

What's the deal with bore-snakes? Why do so many people hate them?

I've been using them ever since I got my first gun and I've never had an issue using them.

        I don't hate them.
They are nice for a quick run-through in the field on a long weekend, but they really aren't effective for regular cleaning.

They are fantastic for cleaning the bore. The surface area is hundreds of times what a single cloth patch is.

For actions, bolts, etc, you still need to clean the old fashion way.

I love bore snakes. They won’t clean stubborn crap out but they’re great after a regular range day.

They are great fir regular cleaning. I haven't used a rod in years and all my rifles shoot moa or less.

I wet the rope portion in front of the brush part with Slips EWL 2000, drag through three times and call it a day.

I'll start messing with solvents and other stuff when I start missing my targets.

I keep one in my gun case for pistols & rifles

I usually run a bore snake through a rifle or pistol before use to make sure it's ready to fire, because I leave a protective coating inside my bore during storage.

This all I use my snakes for.

                              Perfect for the task.
