his point is that a gun you can shoot accurately very quickly (assuming you have the nerve to aim accurately and precisely) is a viable choice, the implication being it is a better choice than one you cannot.

I'll say that if I was carrying a heavy and huge Ruger MK-II Government Target with a 7" bull barrel... I could more easily carry my 6" barreled Glock 40 MOS 10mm that shoots a slightly more powerful round but is easy to control and can hold 18 rounds. But a .40 or .45 is good enough... or a 9mm HST. Yep, they are still all handguns.
