Upon reading this i thought the OP got shot or hit with a round blew up in his face... but yes it does hurt. I played a 100 shell trap skeet one time without ears because i thought I was cool. It is dumb. I could not hear proper tones for the next 12 hrs. Hunting is different. You shoot max 5 rounds with all sorts of adreneline pumping, usually with 24+ inch barrels, which is alot more tolerable than a AR10 with muzzle device
