People on calguns love to rag on gun shows in so cal. Well we are darn lucky we still have gun shows in CA. We need to support them I will pay my 18 bucks to get in and look around. This is not a good time to not support anything about guns. Nothing good about gun shows going away.

Weird way to look at the world man...
I have no interest in the shows at all, but for some reason you think I should go and waste a day... Why?"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them" - Richard Henry Lee

I always go for jerky mostly. Occasionally small parts if needed.

I think part of the problem is too many people go to gun shows that are too small for the population...
If you want good deals on used guns you gotta get there real early. Or if you're a negotiator get there close to closing.Comment

Gun shows are a great idea in principal but are going obsolete. Products for sale are very limited by CA Laws. Items still available for sale are competing directly against online pricing. Historically that has not worked well, see examples like Blockbuster & Toys R Us.
It sucks, but social support is the only thing keeping them around already. I hope folks keep going- but I feel like the next big hit requiring ammo purchase background checks is going to tip the jenga tower.Comment

It reminds me of LACR 1/4mi raceway... everybody *****ed and moaned about it being too windy or too dusty... then we lost it and we were all screwed... other tracks closed down like Fontana now there are no 1/4mi tracks around... all that complaining left us with nothing.Comment

Gun shows aren't what they used to be, many vendors know time is of the essence and there are some late to the guns and ammo game, these are target consumers for potential gougers. For those lucky enough to see the big picture within the last few years bought cheap and stacked deep. You can find deals online and even at brick and mortar if you stumble upon some. I think the misconception new buyers have is a gun show is kind of like shot show.Comment

Why would anybody NOT go? You can get a fully semiauto machine gun cash & carry with no background check, right?

Many nay Sayers but when they are all gone and maybe we loose our ability to buy off the internet [ very possible ] what are you going to do. I see the day when turners only sells camping gear and fishing gear. Bass pro shop no longer sells ARs of any kind. Corporate, banks, government are at this time going around the 2a and will be satisfied to strangle our ability to buy and sell guns.Yes the guy living in the boonies with lots of guns probably will not be affected but the left will be satisfied to make gun owners insignifican

I just went to the one in San Berdoo last week and found some decent deals on Brass. Thats about it, but it was kinda fun to look around.Comment

The reason to go now is for ammo. Unless you have a local guy that will accept mail/online order shipments for cheap.Comment

NotaBiker, Calguns loves to rag on gunshows. You always see the same beef jerky, dreamweaver, etc. comments. Then they complain about parking or $8.00 beers.
I enjoy the gun shows at costa mesa and go all the time. Its fun to look at guns and stuff. I buy some reloading stuff and talk to lots of nice people. Its surprising how many women and families are at the gunshows these days.
I also agree with your feelings of wanting to support the show. Sure, they are not as good as the good old days, but it is all we got. I would rather support them than see them go away.
But you are talking to a crowd that will complain and would rather sit at home and buy online.Comment
