If your ammo is in new condition and in boxes,

Take them to a gun show and trade it in with an "Ammo Dealer" (is licensed for stupid new law) for a caliber that you can use. Or, the dealer may buy it from you, for next to nothing, I might add.

Can you just give any ammunition away for free without an FFL involvement?

I feel the same way i have like close to 1300-1500 rounds of 308 M80 Lake city in cans on strip clips I have no idea what to do with.

We should go to the same range on the same day and time. If you happen to negligently leave your 1300-1500 rounds on the shooting bench you are using, I may end up negligently leaving some cash on my shooting bench.

Some people might just want a little wiggle room , if your at 499 you are under the 500 mark ( 499 < 500 , for those that want precise numbers ).

And the insult about being mathematically challenged could be considered a personal attack to those that posted up that number .

500 plus is actually 500+ or greater than or equal to 500. Meaning 500 is included in that range since we are nitpicking.

Scene--target facility holding a regulatory or business license.
Seller: "Here are the 1000 rounds that I will sell you for $200. I need you to confirm that you intend to keep these at all times within the facility's premises."
