Every Calguns transaction I have ever made has gone smooth. I make phone contact with each person to get a feel for what type of person they are. I have had a couple text-only sales but I could tell by their reliability and follow-up that they were reliable. I always test the buyer or seller several times before the sale to see if they are reliable. I will contact them and request that they contact me at regular intervals to make sure there is no miscommunication for meeting for a transaction.

OP, I would ditch the flake you are dealing with in a heartbeat. Don't waste your time.

Not that I'm a whirling dervish of trading activity really, but I do the same. A five year member with a significant number of posts and a "0" is probably a safer bet than a member that joined a week ago and has "1" for buying a drag bag in the non firearms section.

I remember my first eBay transaction in 2000, an American Stratocaster for $460 and the seller freaked out because I had a "0". I overnighted him a USPS money order and all was right in the world... I have 710 now.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

i'm like the OP-too nice lol. rather than leaving a negative itrader i would just not deal the person again-i left a negative post about a car shop a few years ago. all of a sudden all his friends started posting in his defense, and i think the admins just ended up deleting the whole post entirely.

on deals with where the buyer has little or no feedback I insist on the following:

                * I pick a location near my house
                * I tell them that I am not even going to get on the road until they arrive.
                * I tell them to text me when they arrive and I will show 5 min later.

that way I don't end up waiting around forever. If they don't agree, no problem -- on to the next buyer.

Also wanna add that all my transactions here were all 100% positive. They are all gentlemen and true to their words.

We agreed on the price ---> set date and time ---> picked FFL ---> done! No Drama and excuses.

Every single one of them showed up on time or early. Polite and respectful.

in general, dealing with people from a forum isn't an issue since they know that if they screw up, it will be hard to get their good name back. of course some people just don't care but hey, that's life.

By not giving feedback, you just give the buyer another chance to repeat the same sheit to another Calguns member.....and this guy seems the perfect type to do it all the time. “Excuse Guy”, whose time is more important than others’.

If you just state the facts, with no embellishment, you’re not going to get attacked. State the facts, with no opinion, and let others determine if they want to deal with him.
