Roughly...$30 for the FFL, $71 for the COE, $120 for the LiveScan required for the COE.

Thanks. Are the $30 and $71 annual costs? I'm assuming the livescan isn't required every year, or is it?

COE is $22 annually. I believe the 03 FFL renewal is $30 every three years.

A livescan is only necessary the first time. After that is as stated above. $22 for the COE each year and $30 every three years for 03 FFL.

I haven't been following this much, but am about to fill out the paperwork and get going.

How serious is the issue of a potential ATF audit? Has anyone ever had one? It looks like it's a prime FUD topic, but some personal experience would be nice.

And the 03 is all that's needed for buying ammo, correct? It wouldn't take many orders to recoup the $30 every 3 years cost.

That's a toss-up. I live in incorporated city boundaries, but response is both from local PD and Sheriff as I'm right next to unincorporated area.

I'll start with the town's PD and check with the Sheriff also.

                  Thanks.

I think you also need a COE which is more expensive than the 03. Doj, fbi abd live scan operator fee will set you back abt 100 if you find a place that does them for 25.

Does anyone have a link for the c&r friendly ammo vendor thread?

I have had my03 and COE for 20 years, never been inspected. If they do, the ATF must call and make an appointment with you, they don't just show up. If that ever happens, it is your choice if you want to let them in. I would advise though, if an appointment is made with them to inspect, keep the appointment and follow through with the terms of the license.

I doubt there will be much of a flooding. With the background checks and fees it should sieve out 99% of owners.
