I haven't been following this much, but am about to fill out the paperwork and get going.
How serious is the issue of a potential ATF audit? Has anyone ever had one? It looks like it's a prime FUD topic, but some personal experience would be nice.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

That's a toss-up. I live in incorporated city boundaries, but response is both from local PD and Sheriff as I'm right next to unincorporated area.
I'll start with the town's PD and check with the Sheriff also.
Thanks.Comment

I think you also need a COE which is more expensive than the 03. Doj, fbi abd live scan operator fee will set you back abt 100 if you find a place that does them for 25.
Does anyone have a link for the c&r friendly ammo vendor thread?Last edited by steelholder; 01-02-2018, 5:24 PM.WTB 3rd Gen SW also looking for a 22 pistol with 6" bbl or longerComment

I have had my03 and COE for 20 years, never been inspected. If they do, the ATF must call and make an appointment with you, they don't just show up. If that ever happens, it is your choice if you want to let them in. I would advise though, if an appointment is made with them to inspect, keep the appointment and follow through with the terms of the license.I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.Comment

true
I doubt there will be much of a flooding. With the background checks and fees it should sieve out 99% of owners.Originally posted by HairballCA will block 03/COE as well as the majority of those applying are not collecting "curios and relics". They let it slide for the collectors to procure hard to find ammo from local sources. As the majority will be using it to purchase ammo for non-qualifying firearms, they will block it somehow. Those that actually use it for their older collections may get screwed by those flooding the system with applications as the sheer number of new "collectors" is going to draw attention.
