That info is incorrect. You are not allowed to receive any ammo deliveries after 12/31/2017. That means if UPS delays your delivery date and they can not deliver by 12/31/2017, they will have to send the ammo back to seller. It's definitely a gamble ordering ammo right now but good luck.

My understanding has been ammunition orders need to arrive before Jan 1. Wait and see what other knowledgeable posting respondents have to say on the matter

Most of the online dealers are cutting off sales to California this weekend to make sure that the ammo is delivered timely

I got an e-mail from Bite the Bullet stating they verified with DOJ that: So long as the ammo purchase/transaction is completed by 12/31/17, they will be allowed to ship after 1/1/18. This is the only supplier that has made this statement so far.

Logically we should be allowed to purchase ammo up till 12/31/2017 because that is the transaction between buyer and seller. It all depends if the law considers shipping as part of that transaction.

As with anything related to the written law, it takes a rocket scientist or an actual lawyer to interpret it correctly.

Unless the vendor recalls it, I very much doubt that UPS will be enforcing CA law. Plus UPS has no way of knowing if you are exempt from the law. If it is in the system and not recalled by the vendor, it will most likely be delivered.

Does UPS even know that ammo is in the package? My ammo deliveries indicate hazard 1.4 materials, but that can cover a lot of things.

Depends who you buy it from, natchez ships the bulk ammo boxes in the Remington boxes clearly marked as ammo

All I can say to OP is good luck. Worth the try but many online suppliers will not take orders if they will not arrive by 12/31. 10K is not enough to last me a year unless 2018 has a lot of rain and I slow down with range trips. I do have a new born at home so I may stay home more often.
