Have a G26, Shield, and G36 on my permit.Interested in member opinions on these Ca. compliant handguns in 9mm; Gl 26; Gl 19; S&W m&p shield; Springfield XD subcompact. Things such as all around function for HD and target shooting, mag reloading, trigger pull, good SD/HD rds, comparable accuracy. Any members who own one or more of these guns who can would care to give their opinion I would appreciate it. Also any suggestions on comparable 9mm compacts under $600. Thanks!
I have not carried the G26 once in 2 years and it is being dropped from my permit and replaced with a P380.
With the MagGuts spring/follower in the Shield mags, the G26 doesn't have a significant capacity advantage (1 round), and the Shield is much more concealable AND has a thumb safety, which is nice for reholstering seated in the car.
Any that you list are great guns and will get the job done, but the Shield is thinner and does conceal better than the double-stack Glocks.- Rich
