Short answer, ain't gonna happen, and I'm probably the least hawkish firearm owner you'll find. Individual states may make it tougher to buy and own guns, including California, but there won't be a Federal ban and any attempt to change 2A won't get far. No elected official in Washington will want the political heat.

Guns will not be illegal to own in this country. Restrictions, yes! We can look to Australia to see why firearms should not be made illegal.

California is constantly passing foolish laws but this is a state issue.

I can see increase in restrictions or justification for owning certain types or firearms and for buying ammunition.

My advice to everyone and their kids is to get their hunting license.

Already, with a hunting license you're exempt from requiring a firearms safety card to buy a long gun. Which is fair imo because if you passed the hunter safety course you are much more prepared to handle firearms than from just passing a 25 question paper test.

So no, he was not prohibited, and even if he was he could cash and carry in the parking lot of a gun show.

But no, no gun bans are coming from the federal level because there are still people who think those who beat their wives and kids a little bit shouldn't have their "God given" right to guns taken away.

As the story is coming out this guy was a serial domestic abuser, his wife was leaving him and the church was helping her out with leaving him.

Yes. And we need to rub the anti's noses in this every time they mention more background checks. The background check system that they tout, and designed, and insisted on was in place. And it failed. Just as it has many times in the past.

Yet somehow they want us to believe that stepping up the frequency of failure, that is more background checks, will prevent future failures. Only a lib can think that way.
