      That's similar enough for a lot of people...
      I don't disagree and obviously they're different, but they're both gas operated piston driven systems with loose tolerances that a throw around a chunky bolt carrier and shoot 7.62, designed by the same country around the same time, similar sights etc etc. For someone hoping for an AK and yet still didn't know what he had and probably unfamiliar with surplus rifles in general...they're similar IMO.
