a outright ban on all ammo i don't think will happen but without a doubt i think these 2 possibility's can happen.

they already want to move the lead ammo ban for hunting state wide, then why not ban all lead ammo use for target shooting as well to save the environment.

and i'm quite sure the UN and other Anti-gun groups would love to kill importation of ammo or make it so costly to import they just give up on importing the stuff.

        The Scenario.......

Step 1 - A dozen or so sporting goods stores are supposedly robbed and cleaned out of ammo.

Step 2 - Guy shoots up a school yard. He's never found, but his car is and it's loaded with thousands of rounds of ammo

Step 3 - In order to "Save the Children", a law is passed requiring all ammo to be registered and a waiting period is added. Sales limited to registered weapons dealers. "We're not BANNING it, just making sure that crazies don't get hold of it".

Step 4 - 2A is "upheld", but really, who needs more than 100 rds per year to defend themselves?

        There you go.....it's worked before.

Gotta go adjust my tinfoil hat.

No, but I don't think federal 22 is going to ever get below 13.50 a box that Walmart has it for now so stocking up isn't a bad idea. I do think that othe calibers may come down a little bit though.

              .357, 300
Im done with ammo. Now I buy Silver food and water

Also check out the ammo cans at Sportsmanguide.com, great and air tight for long term storage of ammo.

thats not quite enough stocking up. i have this and i need about 2k more 5.56 and 7.62x39.

              .308, 400
              7.62x39, 440

There was a CA bill that came very close to passing a few years ago. I would have required serial numbers on all new ammo plus forbidden possession of non-serialized ammo outside one's residence.

Agreed Taxing is a bigger near term issue than banning.

So is regulation. Not the banning kind of regulation. The harassment kind of regulations. (In some respects I think all gun regulation is some kind of minor harassment) I am sort of surprised there isn't a 10 day wait period on ammo. One that begins after the 10 day wait for your pistol is over if you are a new buyer.
