The low tech solution I saw in Asia is to chain guns to the booth:

No it sucks ***. I thought about using a shooting range in Asia, but then the $3 per 9mm round was too much for my cheap American mind to overcome.

            ^^^ This.

If you wouldn't do it in presence of your girlfriend (or your mom/dad/kids/friends), why do it in presence of someone else's girlfriend (or mom/dad/kid/friend)? If there is an understanding that it's going to affect people and he chooses not to care about others, well, he is an a-hole.

Sure he is the one who had issues and is now dead, but we can still judge his actions by themselves. This was not an accident and he is culpable for what he did. If he chose to take a dump and throw it at people instead of causing bits of his brains to fly around at people, would he get a pass just because he had a hard life, or would we say that it is an unacceptable behavior?

The only difference between this and Adam Lanza is in the level of the lack of care for others.

There are reasons why suicides are stigmatized in every society and why practically every religion considers it highly immoral.

This is where I don't agree. Suicide is not a crime in the US. It's also quite a bit more complex than the issue of mere legality.

Gun or no gun, if someone wants to commit suicide, they will. If every range in California permanently closed TODAY and every single gun was confiscated, suicide would STILL be a thing and it would STILL happen just as frequently.

Sure, it's sad, but until we figure out a better way to help folks with mental illness, this is going to happen. Talking about smart guns and chaining guns to a wall is something libtards would do.

This is factually false. Access to a gun dramatically increases the rate of successful suicides. It's one reason that men have a higher success rate at suicide than women. I'm not saying that ought to affect the law, but if you own guns and don't realize this, you dangerously misinformed.

Factually false? Didn't they teach reading comprehension in your ESL class? Where did my HSF donation go? I said nothing about the success rate of suicide attempts. I'm talking about the overall picture. In Australia, for example, the decrease in suicides after gun control was something like 1.5% per year. Hardly staggering.

Don't worry, my firearms are in a safe and all my ammo is locked up just like you and the rest of the libtards have mandated.

Everybody has an insight to why he committed suicide. We don't know it was "depression".

--Maybe he just fondled 3 children and the cops were closing in.

--Maybe he murdered his loud-music-playing neighbor.

--Maybe he bilked coworkers out of $2M and was due in court tomorrow.

Personally, I have never bothered renting a gun, and gun rentals by others at ranges never bothered me....but maybe I gotta rethink these spots?

Japan and South Korea have some of the highest suicide rates in the world and firearms are highly restricted in both countries. Bases 2015 statistics collected, South Korea is 26 per 100k and Japan is 15 per 100k vs the US at 12.6. Note that the US is only 0.7 higher than the EU as a whole. Care to enlighten us with hard fact and not emotions?

A day after Christmas, Christopher Tuft rented a handgun at On Target Shooting Range in Laguna Niguel and fatally shot himself. He was 30. On Saturday night, Demetrio Ulloa Jr. borrowed a .45-caliber handgun at the Los Angeles Gun Club and…

Hector probably works for the state legislatures by trolling forum and report his finding back to the commissars.
